“Excellent Great Meal”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

Eight of us stayed here last week,.
We had 4 rooms and whilst they ranged from Fantastic to average they are priced accordingly.
We drank and ate in the Bar and restaurant.
They have good real ales and an excellent wine selection at reasonable prices. The food was extremely good as was the service. Between us we ate both Meat, poultry and Fish dishes and all 8 of us were delighted with our meals.
We would not hesitate to return.

Very relaxed atmosphere. Room was clean and spacious! Lovely breakfast!!! Lots of choice!!
The room overlooked the street and could be noisy, but We liked being right in the centre of town, so didn't mind the hustle and bustle.

Having spent the morning on a walk around Winchcombe and the Sudeley Valley, we wanted a meal to fill us up for the rest of the day. We had a dog with us and I had read that there was space to eat outside. The benches seemed very disconnected from the whole place but quite nice to sit. Chose to have their burger which was really good but the one thing that put you off slightly was the girl at the bar inside. She didn't go to charm school I tell you. She refused to serve us saying that she wasn't serving those outside. The man was polite and did. Apart from the incident with ordering, the food does not disappoint.

Stayed here just one night in late April after walking over "the hill" from Cheltenham in the pouring rain. Totally appreciated the friendly staff, warm room with plenty of hot water and the delicious dinner - all four of us were happy with the meal. The pub was a welcoming spot as well and we met several interesting people who were there for the weekend participating in the spring crafts sale at Sudeley Castle. Loved what we saw of the town as well - the hardware store staff right across the street were very helpful

stayed on business in this charming quintessential Cotswold town, staff very very helpful, attentive and informed on local area.
Stayed in Ramblers Rooms which have a shared bathroom by 3 rooms, not a problem as very large bathroom with two sinks and walk in shower, wet room type. These are at the top of the hotel/ Inn.
The food was tip-top and well presented in extremely comfortable surroundings, restaurant is split into 3 areas with one part being a wine shop.
Breakfast highly recommended with big portions.

Room Tip: en- suite rooms x 8 No on first and second floors. All seem very adequate with facilities that are e...

The room was very tired, in need of decoration and a good clean. See photos. Dispite saying they have car parking on the website, there are only 7 spaced for the 11 rooms. We had to park 1/2 mile away. When we were coming down to breakfast we heard another couple saying how disappointed they were with their room. Sounds like there a common theme throughout the Inn.

Room Tip: Avoid this place at all costs

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Eat, drink and flop in historic Winchcombe. To some it's a pub, others a hotel. Situated at the heart of the village of Winchcombe near Cheltenham, this ‘restaurant with rooms’ (there are 11) offers the very best of British food and an excellent wine list. Visit the wine shop and try the famous sausages in the Wine & Sausage eating rooms. A perfect place to visit or stay if you love walking or visiting Cheltenham races. Each of the 8 en-suite rooms are individually styled and some have feature beds. In the Wine & Sausage eating rooms located on the inns ground floor they are passionate about real food, the great and simple British dishes that we grew up with. Ingredients are carefully sourced and wherever possible use local and regional farmers, growers, fishermen, producers, brewers and even winemakers. Just a few metres away from the inn you will find the scenic Cotswold Way and Gloucestershire Way footpaths. The Inn is also very popular with cyclists and can help with routes around the area, especially via one or two other 'watering holes'. There's even a hosepipe for washing down muddy bikes. Winchcombe is an idyllic base for touring the Cotswolds and the White Hart is the perfect bolt hole close to the famous sporting and cultural festival town of Cheltenham. ... more   less
