Description: The falcon steakhouse is a family run restaurant open since 2012. The beef we serve is freaked on our own family farm only 1.5 miles from our kitchens door. To find out more information and how how to book a table with us why not visit either our facebook page or out website. Andy

A group of 8 visited the Falcon Steakhouse for lunch just before Christmas and were delighted with the service, atmosphere and especially the food. Seven of us had steaks of different types, all ordered to be cooked to different degrees - when the food arrived every steak was perfectly cooked, with loads of chips and other goodies. Andy uses top quality, 28 day hung local steak, so the quality is very good indeed. The rest of the menu looks good as well to cope with a wide range of tastes, including vegetarian.

This is a great addition to the Wotton food scene and provides excellent value for money.

We have now been here a couple of times and will be going back as the food is consistently good.
The steak is local and cooked to perfection and the fish tastes very fresh, in an unusual batter.
The chips are plentiful (too, plentiful, perhaps as we have never managed to finish them!) but probably the best chips I have ever eaten.
The staff are friendly and service is very good.
If I had one complaint, it has to be the wine. There are a large range of beers including guest beers, but when I asked for a glass of wine, I was asked red or white. On selecting I was given a small screw top bottle of well…………………. it did say white wine on the bottle, but could have been anything!
Please can they stock some good wine to match their excellent food?

It has long been a surprise that Wotton has struggled to produce a decent dining option but the new management at The Falcon has thankfully managed to address this. This is not attempting to be a Michelin type of restaurant but more a good value local steakhouse. Whilst clearly aiming at the carnivore market there appeared to be a surprisingly good range of vegetarian options, though our party were all meat eaters so can not comment on these. We sampled the rump, fillet and house special (a jazzed up form of fillet) and pronounced all absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection & very tender - even the rump which in some chef's hands can be akin to leather.Generous portions.
We did not sample the desserts as we were all full but I gather that this chef used to run The Pear Tree at Charfield which always had reliably good homemade puddings.Good luck to him in this new venture in an area which sorely needs somewhere to eat out.
One very small quibble - we were left at our table for rather too long with neither the offer of a drink nor a menu. Suspect this was probably an oversight due to slightly inexperienced front of house/waiting staff & possibly actually a physical shortage of menus as they were very busy - taking a drinks order as soon as people are seated & simply printing off a few more menus would help resolve this !

Went with anticipation but left disappointed. Steak was ok (slightly overlooked) but at £16 it was not good value. This place has to be careful in that it doesn't price itself out of a local market that has other options. I wish the venture well.

The Falcon Inn is now under new management, the place has been refurbished to a high standard (we were informed this is on going at the present time)
The restaurant side serves food of a wide variety of locally sourced steaks (from Ozleworth), burger, fish & chips etc with a good variety of starters. The food served is not of your typical bar food but of top notch restaurant quality.Even the potatoes are given the Falcon makeover, try The Falcon chips, mmm. The desserts are really good, definately worth trying. Examples of desserts are banoffee pie cheesecake, creme brulee, eton mess, lemon tart. We have tried them all with no complaints! Good variety of local beers, wines, non alcoholic drinks.
The atmosphere is perfect for any occassion whatever the size of group as well as for intimate couples. We meet up once a month for a girls catch up, we have tried various pubs but since finding this menu we look no further.
Definately worth a visit, you wont be disappointed.
