“We will be back!”

Perfect lodge in a perfect location- full of amazing mod cons and the hot tub made it even more lovely! In a perfect location to explore the New Forest, and the weather was on our side! Looking forward to another stay soon :)

We booked this holiday with one thing in mind which was to relax. We achieved this and more. The lodge had everything as described to make our stay enjoyable and was clean and very well appointed.

What a lovely lodge. Has an amazing stay. Location is good if you need a base in New Forest. We went just for chill out weekend and it was ideal for this too. Beds are so comfortable. Hot tub a fab addition. We will be back.

“Great base for exploring the local area!”
Reviewed 16 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Lovely stay at this hi tech lodge! Initially worried about the lack of kitchen facilities but to be honest we wanted easy food and the halogen oven cooked better than we thought!
Great base to explore the New Forest or travel slightly further a far towards the coast (Bournemouth and Poole both lovely- only about 25 mins)
All the information you need for the facilities is well explained in a handy guide. Nice clean bedding, plenty of towels, etc. Dogs enjoyed having a secure area to potter around and bask in the sun although they initially weren't too sure on the magical appear cows and ponies to be begin with!
Would definitely visit again and recommend to friends :-)

“Missing it already”
Reviewed 16 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Having read some of the reviews before we went I was a little sceptacle about the 'no sink no cooker' issue in the kitchen but to be perfectly honest I didn't really miss it. The owner has provided all that is needed to make your stay as hassle free as possible and let's face it if you have a sink it just means more washing up (and that's something I can do without on my holidays). Just take the dishwasher tablets and be happy. The hot tub is such a lovely addition to the holiday. My husband and I sat in the hot tub and watched the meteor shower one evening. The rooms were all very clean with plenty of towels for our weeks stay. TV in every room and the music system was great too. On arrival we were met by the new forest ponies (kids loved that). There was a problem with the wifi which was out of the owners control unfortunately but Ringwood has plenty of free wifi hotspots so if you're really stuck go there. There is a great farm shop a short walk from the lodge where they have just about everything that you need. If you are really worried about the lack of cooker then do what we did - take a slow cooker. It saves time and money going out to eat but to be honest we thoroughly enjoyed the great outdoors (even in the rain) cooking on the bbq. The New Forest Water Park is literally a 5 minute drive away and well worth a visit (even just to sit and watch) as its free admission. We will definitely make a return visit but will bring our bikes next time as there is just so much more exploring to do. Oh and one last thing - take your wellies. You might need them. have a great, relaxing holiday

“Beautiful and relaxing”
Reviewed 14 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

A wonderful stay at Forest Lodge. Very clean and full of mod cons. The only negatives we could say is we missed having a kitchen sink and having to go outside in the rain to use the microwave. Also getting in/out of lodge to car can be difficult after a rainfall due to water going into a stream effect which has to be crossed.

Apart from this we loved it and wouldn't hesitate to go back .. The above negatives were tiny and humourous part of the holiday in the end .. No grumbles, and Paul was really helpful.

Management Response

Glad you had a brilliant time and enjoyed your stay Lynsey and hope to see you again. There is a sink and washing up bowl in the lodge if you really don't wish to use the 30 minute cycle top of the range dishwasher. There's also a gravel path to the side from the car park, so you don't have to cross the stream all set out in the welcome pack.

“Everything but the kitchen sink!”
Reviewed 12 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Great little compact lodge in a fantastic location. Furnished and decorated to a high standard. We enjoyed seeing wandering ponies, donkeys and cows wandering through the green in front of the lodge everyday. Fantastic surrounding walks and pubs. We were delighted the owner allowed us to bring our dog who absolutely loved the experience!
It was lovely to relax in the hot tub after a day's adventures.
Although clearly stated in the description, the incomplete kitchen could potentially be a challenge, especially in bad weather, to cook as it meant cooking outside.
We experienced a few other niggly problems with the shower, like it was stuck on very very hot and the rainbow lights didn't work but it wasn't worth making a fuss over, we probably should've given the price we paid!
All in all, we had a fabulous family holiday here & I would recommend to all.
