You do get what you pay for. We only stays here as we were catching the ferry to France first thing the following morning and just needed somewhere to sleep.
The room was tiny, but clean. There isn't much more I can say. You wouldn't want to stay for longer, but it suited our needs.
One disappointment was one of the staff members who was quite a rude and unhelpful woman. We had to leave early the next morning to catch a ferry so I asked her on our way out to dinner, as you would at any hotel, if we could order a taxi for the morning. She just looked at me and said "there is a phone here you can use" (there are none in the rooms themselves). I then asked if they could arrange one, and she told me to ask someone later that night and they would sort it out.
Obviously, she wasn't interested in helping, and preferred us to wait for the next shift. It may be a budget hotel, but I would expect the staff are still paid to help their guests.
Luckily the girl on the next morning was friendly and called a taxi for us right away without a fuss.
In summary, stay if you have no other choice, or want somewhere near the port, but otherwise go elsewhere. More
