Stopped off for coffee before going round the attached Royal marines Museum. Having browsed the menu we decided to have lunch here, splitting our visit to the museum either side of lunch. There is a sign saying be prepared to wait as all food is freshly prepared. I chose a steak and kidney pudding ( a real one with a suet casing) and my wife had salmon on a bed of salad. The wait was not too long and the food was delicious. The museum was good but the Quartermaster's kitchen really was the icing on a good day out.

Have been here a few times for their breakfasts. For two people its £12 for a full english and tea/coffee and toast and they certainly dont scrimp. You can go for a bigger breakfast but not sure how much that is, that would be for someone with a fairly big appetite. Food tastes fresh and sausages are are very tasty, they dont look like shop bought, looks like from a butcher as they are quite big and long! Would defo reccomend, very quaint.

If you're really hungry for a BIG breakfast, then this is the place for you. My husband had The Quatermaster's Breakfast which was a huge plateful of freshly cooked food. Having tried breakfast in many eateries in Southsea I can honestly say this is the biggest! Everything was piping hot & gave value for money. I had a bacon sandwich which was sadly only OK, nothing special but we will return & I'll try something else. The service was very polite & friendly & we'll be back soon.

This was a delight. (easy to park for few hours inexpensively - cheaper than the esplanade prices - and don't have to go to the museum so well worth a pop in)
A super little 'cafe' with sandwiches from £2.50, baps, panninis. soup, salalds and many cosy hot options around £5.25. Very affordable, nicely presented, nothing special about the food but hearty portions. 3 of us had 2 x soup, 1 x sandwich, bowl of chips, 2 fruit smoothies, cup of tea and 1 of coffee for £14, stunning value. Clean and a good hygiene rating - which I am very mindful of in any selection of eatery - tables well spaced. All together great.

Didn't have breakfast but would as a mahoosive plateful is about £6!!
