Stayed at the hotel for one evening, had a day to explore Portsmouth. Reception, on arrival was helpful and efficient. The room, although smaller than I'd expected was comfortable and clean. However the bathroom, really was on the small side and let down the room.
The hotel has a restaurant in the open plan ground floor, not really a place for that special meal, furniture basic and menu standard although reasonably priced.
Would I stay there again.....yes, it's within walking distance of most of the sights and was reasonably priced.

Stayed: April 2014, travelled solo

Having stayed here before we knew what to expect, the rooms are extremely small. The bathroom is not really a bathroom more the the size of a cloak room.
We use this hotel because it is close to Gun Wharf Quays. And it is dog friendly. We had no cold water had had to buy water for the dog, a huge lump of chewing gum was found in our bed. I suppose you get what you pay for.

Stayed the night before our trip on the ferry to spain.
Having been to other ibis hotels I was really impressed with the reception and bar area. Rooms a little small but beds very comfortable. Wifi is excellent and free!
All the staff are great especially the lady who served us our evening meal. Food was excellent.
Breakfast was well laid out but the hot buffet food could have been a little better.
Stayed on ground floor room 136 overlooking the front of the hotel, Portsmouth on a Friday night can be very noisy but the windows blocked out some of the noise.
Would stay again and recommend it!

This hotel is great if you want to see a gig at the Guildhall, it's a really easy 5 min stroll. The rooms are v small, no biggie if you're just there to sleep but I wouldn't have wanted to use it as a base for any longer than 1 night. But like I say it was perfect for what we needed

Visited in April 2014 - good foyer and parking on site (for £7 - secure). Room was clean and tidy but small. Bathroom is TINY - you have to watch your knees if you sit on the loo !

TV very disappointing - as on my own for evening thought I'd see what was on...not even freeview just a jumble of 9 English and 3 Foreign channels so went out. It's by the Centre and its pubs soi plenty of Wetherspoon style pub food to want but could only find one restaurant after about 2 miles of walking around. Went back to hotel to see if I could eat there about 9pm and restaurant seemed deserted/closed ?. It's not a great area to find a restaurant to eat at (may have missed some but wasn't for the want of trying)

Overall it was OK but found it disappointing for the price.

Really good size room on the first floor. Room changed from a double to a twin room with no problem over the phone before we arrived. Small bathroom with walk in shower and very clean. Comfortable beds, good lighting and television with many channels. Food excellent on one day and a little too little on the next due to the amount of people arriving for breakfast at the same time which seemed to catch the staff by surprise. Really recommend it for the price.
