Poor room. Very small door hit bed when opened. No air conditioning very warm the window would only open half way. Tiny bathroom suitable only for small people. No electric sockets next to bed. Poor decor.
Next to a building site very noisey first thing in the morning.
The food available on site was of good quality.
The service was good.
However 7 pounds for car parking was expensive. Some ibis hotels don't charge for parking.

We stayed here one night while visiting Portsmouth for the University Open Day. The hotel is in a perfect location for most attractions, the University and the rail station. The room was exceptionally clean though modest in size. I would not like to stay here for say a week but for our stay the size of room was adequate. The bathroom was rather a tight fit but certainly fine for our needs. Breakfast was fine with a good choice of items though rather pricey. Staff were very pleasant.

Stayed here for one night as we were going for a night out in Pompy and aren't local. Booked a couple of twin rooms as there was 4 of us. We were checked in quickly. Room was basic but very comfortable and clean. Wasn't as small as we were expecting. More than enough room for me and my friend to get ready for our night out. Plenty of plug sockets and 2 mirrors! And a hair dryer! We had drinks in the bar before we left. Our 10 friends who we're staying up the road in the ibis budget were allowed in to join us which was great. We got back at 3.30am which was no problem and the door staff even assisted our friends in calling a taxi at 4.30am after we'd sat outside chatting for a while! Beds were very comfortable and the bedding was lovely. It's all seemed really new which was good too. Bathroom was small but not too bad. Shower was really good and most importantly it was clean. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. I can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't order it. The staff were super and it was great value. £80 for the 2 of us so hotel was much better than expected! If I had to say something bad it's that the corridors look a bit old and tired but that would be it!

Room Tip: If you like it quiet in the morning and don't want to hear other guests slamming their doors get...

Super budget hotel in a central area 20 minutes walk to the Historic Dockyard and Gunwharfe were there are numerous restaurants. Staff were efficient and friendly. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed amazingly comfy. Breakfast was good and varied. Free wifi through out and a pool table.
I didn't give a five as the bathroom was tiny - no room to linger, and the car park inadequate - we managed to get the last place - but if you can get in its worth the £7 if you'r exploring on foot.

Not withstanding the ludicrous £110 a night charge which was then further hiked by a £7.50 parking charge and £8.00 per person charge for breakfast, this has to be one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. The room was tiny and the bathroom so ridiculously small you could barely fit sideways into the shower. The window had a chain preventing opening and as a hotel with no air con, the internal temperature of the room was sweltering. The prison like room had a third bed which we did not need or ask for resulting in such a small floor space, you couldn't even walk past your partner. Not a single picture adorned the walls. The parking was at least secure but this is not close to the old dockyard or harbourside development. It's at least thirty minutes on foot or £7.50 in a taxi. The buffet breakfast that continued on until midday was the only good thing about our stay.

Ideal location for Uni open day like us! Right next door. Hotel is easy to find from station, few mins walk. Nice open airy reception, very Ikea looking. Rooms are small but have what you need, especially if it just an overnight or two. We were three in a room and could manouver round each other ok. Bathroom is bijoux, no locks either which is a bit odd. Only gripe was no air con and it was a bit warm in the room even with window ajar. However no noise from outside, or from other guests. Breakfast was good, plenty of hot buffet selection, and continental too.
Staff were a little under pressure though in the morning and could not help if you needed extras as they were busy with a line of guests entering the restaurant. But on the whole, it is good value for money and we will choose this hotel group again for a different trip elsewhere.

Room Tip: Possibly higher floor for less noise / street noise, although we were at the side of the building an...
