“family get together”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

Great night , fabulous host. We were visiting our daughters & as we live abroad we were looking for something a little different and we weren't disappointed. The food & the atmosphere reminded us of holidays in Greece many years ago. The food was plentiful & of a good quality , the Turkish flat bread was amazing . Well worth a visit & we will return.

“Predictable but fabulous.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014 via mobile

The menu is very much what you would expect from a Turkish/Greek restaurant. I've been going here for years and it hardly ever changes. Not that that matters because there is plenty of choice and everything is delicious. Nothing fancy, just fresh tasty food, generous portions and a very reasonable price. My only problem with this restaurant is that unless you go in a group you run quite a high risk of being sat near the door and it can get annoying when it's chilly to have it open and close all evening. A better alternative is to ask for a table at the back but there are only two and then you are right by the grill and that can get a bit toasty!

“Value for money, quality food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 May 2014

Excellent experience. Turned up without a booking, were accommodated without a problem.
The staff were friendly, informative and knowledgeable. If we were locals, we would make Agora one of our destinations.

We had the Mezze selection as we did not require a full dinner. The servings were generous, of very high quality and met our needs. Food cooked to order, delicious. The choice of dessert was very good as well. The Baclava to die for!!!

If you book, we would recommend a table by the window, very entertaining to see the world go by.

“An enjoyable change”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 May 2014

The variety of dishes using lamb and chicken was extensive and our party of 5 made excellent choices, from the starter menu and mains, too.

The food was beautifully presented, very well cooked and deliciously tasty.

Service was excellent from arrival, to placing the order and being served with the freshly cooked food.

There was no long wait and the little extras were enjoyable, particularly the olives, chillies & pitta bread which was warm and freshly made.

There ought to be something on the menu or those who do not enjoy spicy food.

The bill including drinks for 5 was very reasonable at £62 and we are glad we chose this venue as an alternative to our English restaurant of choice, in Southsea

“Gorgeous!”

Not sure 'Catinator' went to the same Agora as the rest of us!
Happened upon this restaurant whilst ambling along after a 5 hour drive. Absolutely beautiful food. Served by a lovely lady who had time for us. We had the hummous with lamb served with bread and the halloumi cheese. Both lovely. We followed it with a lamb shank in tomatoes and carrots and potatoes...AMAZING...and stuffed chicken....no room for dessert!
Give it a go. Its a small cosy friendly family restaurant with character.
