my fiance booked this hotel on the seafront for my friends and i to stay in for my wedding in portsmouth on may 10th...as the groom i was really nervous and had had my stag night a couple of weeks before so we were hoping for something nice and relaxed where i could get my head together before the big day...this hotel was a perfect choice on her part.
not only are the surrounding calm and bright..it has a beautiful aspect onto the seafront and gardens..just right to sit out , have a walk and prepare for the big day.
the staff are wonderful, attentive and cannot do enough to make the stay a great experience..the rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated, food was superb.
the owners joined me in the morning for a glass of champagne and helped me with my speech as at this point the nerves were setting in, what a lovely couple...a wonderful stay and i will certainly be recommending it to anyone who wants a really great stay in the city...mark lovegrove

Room Tip: seafront rooms lovely view

Thank you for your lovely review. It was an absolute pleasure being a small part of your big day, and I was honoured you asked me to go through your speech with you, although you didn't need my help, as it was perfect. You were very nervous, but I know you had a wonderful day and all of us at the Seacrest Hotel wish you and Jo every happiness for the future.
Best Wishes, Geoffrey and Antoinette Stretton

I recently booked this hotel for my Auntie and Uncle who wanted to revisit their childhood haunts , catch up with some old friends and spend some time at the historic Dockyard. They rang me to say how delighted they were with the hotel. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The Hotel, which has recently been refurbished had been done extremely tastefully. They had a superior room with a sea view and they couldn't have asked for a better outlook. They stayed for two nights and had dinner on both nights at the hotel. They have told me they have already recommended the hotel to their friends, and they hoped to return themselves for another visit in the near future.

Room Tip: Pick a room with a seaview, there is always something interesting to watch on the waterfront.

Room 12, small but adequate. Newly redecorated. Quiet. Parking arrangements excellent - but could be a problem in mid season. Very clean. Breakfast fine. Easy to exercise dog off lead on Common, only a short walk.

Room Tip: If you want to be quiet choose a room at the back. If you want a spectacular view choose front of hotel.

Many thanks for your kind review. Parking at the Seacrest is not generally a problem, even in the height of the season. We hand out complimentary parking permits enabling our customers to park at the front of the Hotel on the road. If there is no where on the road, then we have a car park at the rear of the Hotel which holds 8 cars. In the unlikely event that this is full, then we have access to another 3 spaces in the car park next door to the Hotel - happily, this has never been needed.

Regarding rooms at the front of the Hotel. Other reviewers who have stayed in rooms at the front of the Hotel, all say it is quiet. This has been the case since the Council moved all the noisy nightclubs to one area away from the Seafront - and the Seacrest Hotel.

Finally, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us, and thank you again for your review.

We stayed as 3 adults in a seaview superior room. It was lovely and comfortable, with plenty of room. Check in was very quick and welcoming. Breakfast was extremely tasty and served quickly. We loved the new decoration of the breakfast room which made it very homely. Definitely recommend it to others and may even re visit!

Stayed for two nights last week. Very pleasant and clean hotel and staff polite and helpful. A nice breakfast. The only negative point is the restaurant is in the basement, a bit of a problem if you have mobility problems as access is by stairs, so you need to bear this in mind. (Due to the structure of the hotel and the water table if you read the hotel welcome pack). Very close to the hover port for the Isle of Wight. The hotel offers parking permits so need to worry on that score. I will stay again very enjoyable.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view.

Thank you for your lovely review, we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. We note that you would stay with us again. If you do, and you feel that you cannot manage the flight of stairs to the Dining Room, we are always able to serve meals in the small Sitting Room, just let us know. Looking forward to seeing you at the Seacrest again.
