“A wonderful weekend retreat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2014

This is by far one of the best small hotels my wife and I have stayed in. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist on arrival. Formalities sorted and up to our room in the lift. The room was very welcoming, lovely decoration, very inviting looking bed, and all finished off in a very modern style. Our room had a wonderful view of the solent and the gardens opposite the hotel entrance. The bathroom was beautifully clean, with complimentary toiletries, and crisp white towels. The breakfast choice was so good, we had scrambled eggs with salmon, really nice, plus as much coffee/tea as we could drink. We meet the owner as we were leaving to return home, what a lovely lady. They have worked so hard to update this hotel to the standard at which we found it. Well Done. We will be back.

Room Tip: The sea view is worth paying for.

Thank you for your lovely review. We have been busily refurbishing the Seacrest for the past 18 months. All our communal areas and bedrooms have been fully refurbished, the staircases will be completed this winter, when the Hotel closes for Christmas. I know that the Owners, Geoffrey and Antoinette really appreciate your kind words, and have asked me to pass on their thanks. We look forward to welcoming you to the Hotel again in the future.

Stayed in a superior room with sea view, what a wonderful vista overlooking the Solent to the Isle of Wight. Room was excellent, nicely furnished to a very high standard, spotlessly clean and a gleaming bathroom. Staff were really happy and friendly, couldn't do enough to make sure that all our needs were catered for. Breakfast was always freshly cooked to order with good quality ingredients ten out of ten, and we are very fussy. Dinner was again very good but the menu was a bit limited, could have done with another daily special. Overall, top marks, the best hotel we have stayed in for a long time, including four and five star establishments. The local area is world class, the Naval Dockyard, Gun Wharf Key, Southsea front and loads more. Always vessels of all sizes in the Solent to watch and what about a trip on the hovercraft to IOW, brilliant, plus it is all within easy walking distance of the hotel. Do not hesitate to visit the Seacrest we guarantee you will enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: Go for the sea view, its worth every penny.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It is so nice to hear a Guest has enjoyed their stay with us. We have tried to make our Superior rooms truly "superior", and we are pleased that you appreciated the quality. We have noted your comments re more choice on the dinner menu and our Chef has been asked to provide another two options. We hope to welcome you to the Seacrest again in the future.

Stayed here for business last week and was very pleasantly surprised at the standard of the hotel. Had a gorgeous cosy double room that overlooked the car park. Everywhere was spotless and the bathroom was so clean you could have eaten your dinner off the bath!
Breakfast was a very pleasant meal too, good selection and all freshly cooked.

Will certainly be back next time I am in the area.

Was an excellent touch allowing use of parking permit whilst out at business meetings the day of departure too!

Having booked a different hotel in Portsmouth and being contacted by the owner who had over booked, she recommended this hotel - we are very grateful to her! We stayed 3 nights in a small but very comfortable, clean room which had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent with good quality ingredients and friendly, attentive staff. Parking was easy with permit provided. We will be back.

Room Tip: Upgrade from standard room as they have larger rooms

We stayed at Seacrest in May booking a family room. On the third floor the room great views of the sea front, had two singles, a double and a compact en suite with a shower (no bath, but that did bother us as we prefer showers) that was more than adequate.

I had made a request for non pork sausages which weren't veggie (which I despise!) which the hotel happily accommodated serving beef sausages both mornings.

The bar/ lounge area is lovely with quirky pieces of furniture and a nice place to relax with a drink.

Throughout our stay the service was fantastic.

In my eyes this is a very good small hotel, more of a large B&B which is not to detract from the warm welcome, professional service and great location.

We stayed here for two nights as we had the dog with us for the weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and so did the dog! Staff were very friendly and the room very comfortable (although could have been a little bigger!) Would definitely recommend

Room Tip: Sea view room have the best views and bigger beds

Thank you for your kind review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. For reference though, I would like to point out that the beds at the Seacrest are ALL normal British Standard double beds, ie 4'6 x 6'3". Our Superior rooms at the front of the Hotel have Superking size beds, but of course, they are more expensive. We also have some King size beds in our double plus rooms and two of our standard seaview rooms, so it is always worth telephoning when booking, if you would definitely like to have a supersize bed.

Thank you again for your review and we hope to welcome you again one day.
