Free access, in good condition. There's a decent cafe, modest toilets and a fairly decent gift shop.

Doesn't take long to get round. The staff there are trying to be helpful by giving an explanation of things

VisitPortsmouth, Manager at Southsea Castle, responded to this reviewResponded 29 August 2018

Hi there,
Thanks for the feedback. Sorry you couldn't visit Southsea Castle over the weekend, but as it falls within the Victorious Festival site it's only open to ticket holders across that weekend. We try to keep this to a minimum and inform people of any closures via the website, but realise we can't get the message out to everyone who tries to visit.
We hope you can visit us again next time you're in the area, when everything should be open as usual!

Lovely attraction. Quite a small castle but well worth a visit. Display of costumes and will suit all ages from the very young to the very old.. Good location right along the sea front., steeped in history.
