Visiting the South Downs area in March. Ended up here late afternoon as I could not think where else to go for Sunday lunch after 'lunchtime'. Not surprisingly, it was not busy. We got our orders in quickly - 4x roasts, another main and a child's meal. This was the first Sunday lunch experience for some in our group. It was lovely. The roasts moist and juicy. The portions enormous. The roast potatoes gorgeous and gravy yummy (you can ask for more gravy - which I did). Everyone was happy.

The setting was typical Beefeater - pub-like in the front and the restaurant area spacious. The staff helpful and child-friendly. To top it all, I got to use my Gourmet Society card.

We came here for a quick bite to eat but it took longer then we expected.

It didn't seem very busy, but the meals took quite a while to come out.

Unfortunately, the steak was cold, and my chicken burger wasn't very hot inside. They forgot part of our order, but they did apologise for this, got it cooked quickly and brought it out and took it off the bill.

We asked for condiments,. but they took a while to come out and when we chased them up we'd eaten most of our meal by then. Perhaps just have the main condiments ready on the table?

We ordered additional drinks and that took quite a while for these to come. There was a queue for the coffee machine apparently.

The restaurant didn't seem that busy and there seemed to be several staff around. From our table we could see the kitchen serve area - I was just surprised to see many meals sitting waiting to be taken to tables for a while - perhaps that is why they were not very warm?

Otherwise, this is a nice Beefeater and the staff were friendly. Convenient location for road travel and good parking.

I visited the harbour lights with work colleagues as we wanted a quick lunch where we could sit and chat.
we were shown to a table pretty quickly and then it all went downhill from there.
We waited ages for someone to take our order with the explanation being the tills had broken down (?)
We then had to wait over 40 minutes again for our lunches and had to complain again before we received any form of explanation. When the food did finally arrive the order was wrong and considering 3 out of the 4 of us ordered the same meal we couldn't understand why the tills not working should get the blame again.
We did get 2 meals free for the inconvenience but this wasn't the point when what we would have preferred was 4 correctly ordered meals arriving in a decent time.

The service was friendly and helpful. But the food was less than mediocre. How do you get a chicken fillet in a burger hot at one end and cold age the other? Burgers were lukewarm. Avoid this place if you enjoy food!!

Really nice food after it arrived a bit later than it should have, However it was cooked well and was very tasty mine was a 6oz flat iron steak very small, but I knew that, virtually no fat served with nice thin chips and mushrooms.
