Description: 'South of the border' passion is always served up at Chiquito. A menu of bold Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine is prepared however the diner likes it. Burritos, sizzling fajitas and tacos can all be customised for vegetarians or those wanting more spice. A kids menu, games and entertainment add to the family-friendly vibe, and there is a great range of exciting cocktails, mocktails, wines and tequilas.

“It's ok but only ok”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 via mobile

Went here with a large group. The staff managed to get us in without any trouble, despite not having a reservation.
The food arrived reasonably quickly and was food and hot.
Unfortunately I found the dishes to be quite bland and frankly boring.
The price of the food was reasonable as we qualified for one of their discounts. Without this I feel it would have been way too expensive for what it was.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

Went to chiquitos on a Friday night. Ordered drinks which were very over priced. A bottle of echo falls was £17!! Ordered our food which sounded delicious on the menu which was disappointing. £16 for chicken a pulled pork with cheese. When it came it was processed bread crumbed chicken (looked out of a birdseye box) with a tea spoon of pulled pork. I asked the waitress where it was at first as the tiny amount was under the cheap cheese slice. In total for four people the bill was £123. Terrible

“Great food!”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

It took us a while to decide where to eat during a visit to Gunwharf Quay because there is so much choice. We decided to visit here as we don't have one of these near us. The restaurant was very welcoming and looked good, the staff friendly and very helpful.

The choice of food on the menu was excellent and more than enough choice meaning it was difficult to choose but each of our party enjoyed their choices. We had a great deal with "Kids Eat Free" whilst we were there - without it, it may have been a bit expensive. We didn't experience the issues that some other reviewers have mentioned and overall were very happy with our choice. We would definitely visit again.

“Excellent service”

5 star rating for staff who are so helpful. Food is good and interesting and nice choice of dishes. We popped in before the film and got 20% off with our cinema ticket.

“Worst restaurant in England”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

Visited for lunch with hubby and children. Food was tasteless and cold. Waitress was rude and completely unfriendly. Eastern European I think. This has got to be the worst Mexican food I have ever tasted. Having lived in the US previously for many years, the English need to stick to what they know. Pie and mash.
