Just spent two nights at this lovely B&B. My room was very cosy and comfortable nice and clean. David the owner was really friendly and the morning breakfasts were superb.Loved the little arbour for smokers. The parking permit was a bonus as was the freedom to come and go as you please due to having a key for front door.Would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to others.Thankyou David.

Dear Patricia C,
Thank you for giving such a lovely review. The arbour is just a few years old and the wisterias have grown well over it, and now heading towards the Acers. However every May I am waiting for them to flower and so far disappointed, but its said I have to wait seven years. I’ll post a picture on the web site when that happens. Hope to meet you again.

This Quaint guest house was lovely, The room, bedding and bathroom were all very clean and tidy. David the owner was very helpful and genuine.
The room was also lovely and warm (which was very welcoming after a cold and wet day at the dockyard)
The bed was very comfortable and sheets were inpecable clean. (love to know how he got his sheets so white)
Breakfast was lovely
I would highly recomend this guest house.
But do not expect the Hilton . but was half the price
We will defently be going back in the near future

Dear Janet B
Thank you for your review, and glad you enjoyed your stay with us. I’m afraid its been a cold wet summer, but we have been able to dry our Egyptian Cotton Sheets on the line outside, which makes a big difference as the sea air gives them a lovely fresh smell. We hope to see you again.

Had 2 nights in Victoria Court in mid April 2012. Room was warm and cosy, had a good nights sleep followed by a better than expected breakfast down in the basement area. Not as pricey as some other B&B's, but good value. Friendly service and advice. Parking could perhaps become a problem as you simply park out on the street, but we had no difficulty finding a spot when we were there. Would stay again.

Dear bkq828487
Thank you for writing your review, and I am glad you enjoyed our breakfasts. The award winning sausages are from a local butcher while the pig farm is also local and the bacon comes from the same butcher. The on street parking is now permit parking, which we give you a permit to display in the window. We also have a limited number of garage spaces which guarantees a parking space and can be pre booked online if available. I hope you enjoyed your stay in Portsmouth and then Cornwall.

Best wishes and hope to see you again.

Would not recommend this B&B.
The bedding was not clean, towels smell, the wire of the socket underneath the table is hanging out and the shower itself was a nightmare!
However, I'd give some credit to the good location, breakfast and the rather friendly owner.

I'm sorry to say that the comments are totally untrue and libellous. Our sheets are scrupulously cleaned using Ariel Actilift and the towels are softened with Lenor Spring Awakening. Any stains noticed when the bed is stripped are spot washed and if a mark is noticed during the making of the bed it is rejected. We are fastidious about this as it is important. The sheets are Egyptian cotton and are replaced like the towels regularly, to local builders and pet homes. I have fitted new shower heads last month and everyone is pleased with them.

A very pleasant B & B situated on outskirts of Southsea.
Large double room with freeview tv, 2 easy chairs in nice to relax in.
2 Minormoans 1in our room - Shower head can not be turned round so water shoots out at shower door & niether tap marked Hot or Cold .
Basement is used for breakfast -freshly decorated but slightly chilly.

Breakfast was a selecition of 3 cereals , orange juice & a cooked .
All very tasty and well presented.

Bus stop outside the B& B handy as parking is expensive in Portsmouth & Southsea.
Car spaces very hard to find at night ,so walk to the nearby shops and resturants as only a few mins away and only 20 mins to sea front at Soutthsea.
Permit holders parking only from April so I hope B& B get some for their guests.

Overall all a warm & pleasant stay - Would return when next down .

Dear henlowboy
Thank you for the review and glad you enjoyed your stay. Just to respond to your comments, we have now replaced the shower heads with ones on a flexible hose, and unfortunately the tap colours come off with continuous cleaning. Normally the dining room is warm but sometimes a guest turns the radiator off, and I don't notice until it is too late. Add to the 3 cereals, individually wrapped Weetabix and porridge. Permit parking is now underway and there has been an improvement, and I have permits which the guests have at no extra charge.

Best wishes and thank you,

David
