Action Stations could be seen as a place for kids who are interested in a career in the Royal Navy, but it's actually a great day out for the whole family. It's part of the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, but as there's no way to see the whole dockyard in one day, you can return to this place as many times as you want, provided you have a dockyard ticket
Take the pilot's seat in a helecopter simulator, climb up a moving wall that leans forwards and backwards without falling off, climb to the top of a tall climbing tower (with a safety harness of course), try some martial arts out on three rubber posts, test your target practice with two anti-aircraft guns, and much much more. After that you can relax in the cafe, or go upstairs and watch the half hour movie which shows the work of the modern navy and how they would deal with pirates (you may recognise the helecopter pilot as being Jill Halfpenny).
