Never visited this chain before, we were very impressed. It might gave helped that it was Sunday evening and therefore not busy but the service was great and informative. All but one dishes were delicious.. The pancake desert was the only let down.. How difficult is it to make a pancake when you have done everything else brilliantly. Will visit again.

Reading the other reviews on here I had to do a double check to make sure we were talking about the same place. I have eaten here numerous times and the service has always been as bland as expected from your standard run of the mill chains you find in Gunwhalf Quays. My latest experience is one of the worst examples of customer service I have encountered....
Me and a friend popped in for a quick bite to eat a weekday evening, the restaurant wasn't busy at all and yet we waited patiently to be seated. All the front of house staff were sat at a table in the middle just eating, laughing and joking, some of them in uniform and others who were on a break or were just starting or had finished had there uniforms covered by hoodies. After standing there for 5 minutes one of them casually got up and sat us near to the table of staff and then went off to join their friends. We were ready to order within 5 minutes and yet waited a further 15 minutes even before we were offered a drink. We managed to keep the waiter long enough to place our food order and that was the last contact we had with that person. Someone else brought our food and drinks (No fault there, food was great) there was no check back or offer of a much needed top up drink. We had clearly finished our meals and placed our plates to one side and yet these weren't cleared until we got passed the point of waiting and got up to put our jackets on, expecting someone to come over with the bill. Nope, just someone coming over to clear our table, not even making eye contact when saying a cold "See ya later". We made our way to the door and waited to pay there but were just totally ignored. So we carried on walking, clearly our money was no good for this restaurant. Now I could almost understand the ignorance of the staff if we had walked in 5 minutes to closing time but this was 8:30pm!!!

A first visit to Wagamamas. Very impressed by the choice of interesting dishes, especially for vegetarians. Our waiter, Harry was also very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. the free green tea was also welcome !
Altogether a very nice experience and although we are not from portsmouth, we will be seeking out the local Wagamamas.

Food here was very good in particular the chilli prawns and wagamamas ramen. The restaurant was packed which tells you something. We had a really enjoyable evening and would eat here again.

The food here is brilliant -very aromatic and well cooked. The lollipop prawn starter is excellent -however the battered prawns were a little greasy for me. The green curries are delicious -I ordered a noodle soup dish which was very filling and full of flavour.
The atmosphere was vibrant and busy -but the food was not delayed at all.

The waiter who served us really helped with choosing our dishes, and was very welcoming. He did forget to bring over a drink -which he apologized for, and one of our dishes we ordered was forgotten -so he made sure it was taken off the bill.

Would recommend this restaurant.
