Found this Good Beer Guide pub just around the corner from the Hole in the Wall (another GBG entrant and local CAMRA branch pub of the year). It is a proper two bar public house, with a small (ish) and well kept rear courtyard. I don't suppose it has been altered in many many years and doesn't look like it's had a proper redecoration for a decade or so, but that doesn't detract from the charm. It's a local's pub, yet most welcoming to strangers. Excellent ale and a good few that were either local or from small brewers, as well as the usual bland stuff from the national chains. Friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
