Stayed at this hotel over the weekend 9/10 Aug 14.
The staff on reception were very welcoming and even though we were slightly early the two girls on the desk were very helpful. The room was spotless and comfortable as is always the case with Premier.
The night porter was very accommodating when we arrived back at the hotel after an evening out on the town.
Great weekend at this hotel.

We stayed here on our way to catch ferry to France. The staff could not have been more helpful. The room was excellent. We had a good nights sleep and would stay here again. It was in a good position, a short drive to the front. I liked everything about the hotel.

I do like Premier Inns: always clean & comfortable and the staff are so friendly. I guess they train them that way because it seems to be consistent across the country.

This hotel stay was particularly friendly. I'd had a terrible drive down, in awful weather, and arrived late. A lovely friendly welcome from the receptionist who genuinely seemed sympathetic and interested in my journey. She asked me if I wanted breakfast. I hesitated, because the car park seemed really full & it would be very busy. She seemed to read my mind and said, if you're in no hurry come down a bit later because a lot of the guests are leaving early to catch ferries. Maybe it was just a bit of upselling but it was really good service and mind-reading!

Room was very big and I remembered I'd stayed here when it was a Tulip hotel. No bath - but a really big shower. The only odd thing was how small the TV screen was for such a big room - difficult to see from the bed!

Motorway noise, but not unbearable (and I did have the window open).

Good (quiet) breakfast and even the housekeeping staff were friendly and chatty.

Wifi £3 for 24 hours, which isn't too bad.

As I left, I noticed a small bookshelf by the door with a selection of books to borrow. What a great idea!

Slightly overpriced but that was because I booked my room at quite short notice.

Overall, really happy with my short stay - chain-hotel reliability with a friendly human face.

We stayed at the Port Solent Premier Inn prior to our trip to France. The hotel is clean and staff are welcoming, but who decided it was a good idea to have a bathroom with no sink? The hand basin is actually in the bedroom whilst the loo and shower are in the bathroom. This means you have to use the loo, then go into the bedroom to wash your hands, Can you imagine the level of germs on those door handles!
That said, our stay was comfortable, though the noise from surrounding roads could get you down. The breakfast was great and there was plenty to choose from. Would I stay there again? maybe but I'd look around first. Proximity to the ferry port is just ten minutes and for this, it's worth the quirky bathroom.

Room Tip: Get a room on the car park side but park early as we had to use the overflow and one car was damaged...

Can't complain: really good and friendly staff. Very clean. Very comfortable and very good value. Went to the adjacent (and presumably associated) Beefeater next door which was also fine. Much better than driving down on the day!
I would recommend it to anyone going to catch a ferry.

Excellent sized room for a family. Very polite and on a warm day good to have complimentary drinks on way in. Nice walk to bars and restaurants and ideal location for ferry crossings. Noise from main road no problems when windows shut

A gorgeous brand new Premier Inn, clean, luxurious and comfortable. This must be the new bit, as the old hotel ("Port Solent East") is literally across the car park - not sure what that is like but this one is lovely. The extremely friendly staff recommended us to eat on the quay of the harbour a few mins drive south of the hotel, which was a great suggestion. There is a Pizza Hut opposite the hotel, but the harbour restaurants are worth the detour. All possible choices of restaurant and views across the boats to the sunset. Lovely. Great breakfast the next morning too.
