As a natural History Museum it is a little limited in it's content, but it has an interesting selection of exhibits which are quite clearly targeted at children which I guess would it's core visitors. The museum is free with friendly staff with free parking outside. The museum has a number of interesting sections, as adults we enjoyed using the electronic microscope, there is a butterfly house (limited butterflies this time of year), sections dedicated to dinosaurs, wildlife and the development of Portsmouth etc. This museum is certainly worth a visit for children which can be combined with a visit to the Rose Gardens,Canoe Lake, Seafront etc, all free and can lead to a pleasant day.
