“A fantastic place to stay.”

We were given a very friendly welcome by the lady on reception, checked in then went to our room. We had booked a standard double room and were very surprised at the quality of the room and indeed the hotel as a whole. I understand it is undergoing refurbishment and have to say that it has all been done very tastefully and to a very high standard. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of tea and coffee in the room. I was concerned that there would be some traffic noise from the adjacent main road but you wouldn't know it was there and we had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We both had the full English which was as good as you can get anywhere especially the scrambled eggs which were properly freshly cooked, not just stuck in a microwave for five minutes.

If we are in Portsmouth again we would definitely stay here again and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. All in all, well done Ferry House Lodge. You made our short stay very special indeed.

We stayed at the Ferry House Lodge as a stop before going on a driving tour of Europe, and liked it so much we arranged to go back on our way back through. The welcome was fantastic and the owners and staff could not have been more pleasant helpful and gracious. I would recommend a stay here, without hesitation, to anyone going through Portsmouth, and even as a holiday base to stay at. We will definitely be back, and for a longer stay. I can be quite picky, and it takes perfection for me to go to the trouble of writing a review. I could find no fault with the Ferry House. In fact the stay was above and beyond anything I would hope to expect.

Room Tip: As this was our first visit, it's hard to say, but, from what we experienced they would all be g...

Heard about this new b&b from the white horse and couldnt resist checking it out!
walked in to a warm welcome! the staff were more than happy to help and upgraded us to one of their premium doubles, was great to have a big bath to get into after being in the cold christmas shopping! loved the fury throw on the bed, plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits! its like a sanctuary!
thanks guy!

Was after somewhere to stay that wouldn't cost the earth and was recommended the Ferry House Lodge by a work colleague who had stayed soon after their opening and said it was worth every penny and local to everything - motorway, ferry port, city centre etc PERFECT! Everything I needed during my stay. Arrived to a very warm welcome and considering it used to be a pub the make over has been done very well into a high quality b&b.
The room was nicely done, fresh towels and clean, shower facilities are impressive and the breakfast was delicious. During my 3 night stay nothing was too much trouble and I could relax in the room after a very busy day.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND for future visits - it's a credit to the city

On arrival you may be a little drawn to the aesthetics of the surrounding area but step inside and all your reservations will be allayed.
This newly converted pub now bed and breakfast is nice and clean inside, fresh and modern throughout the lounge and dining area.
I stayed in a premium double suite and was most satisfied with the size and quality of the room and furnishings. The bathroom was finished to a high standard and very clean, well lit and the complimentary bathroom soaps and clean towels just finished it off.
The staff here are very polite and helpful, with a nothing is too much trouble attitude adding to an already pleasant experience.
The breakfast was A1 in the morning, good range of foods from traditional English to cereals and continental selections.
There was still some finishing touches being done but that is too be expected given the effort and quality they have put in.
All I would recommend and definitely come back in the future.

I stayed there with my sister and my dad for one night during the Bupa Great South run and was fantastic. the exterior and interior has been completely transformed! We were the first guests to stay there and were given a room each for the price of two rooms because we had booked at short notice. The rooms were very comfortable and each had their own en-suite bathroom, which were modern and most importantly very clean. We had a cooked breakfast in the morning and cereal and fruit were on offer along with tea, coffee and orange juice. We were the only guests but considering they had only opened the day before and were very nice and welcoming. Also there is car park on site. A very pleasant, short stay.
