Stayed for the d day events but found the hotel in need of some tlc particularly the outside area which was grotty on Friday evening. The staff were really really good - friendly and helpful. Top tip though - please don't microwave a quorn sausage as the results aren't great !!

Visited during D-Day celebrations. This would not have been my first choice of hotel but owing to the fact all our "normal" Portsmouth hotel were all booked up we had no choice.

Staff made us feel at home on check in. Although one note is they failed to realise that Premier Inn are supposed to offer Armed Forces discount. That is a central office enquiry, which is fair enough. But surely the fact the hotel is in Portsmouth staff should have been made more aware of this.

Room itself was clean and tidy, beds comfy and a good size, although the bathroom was clean it smelt damp, which wasn't great and the room was very very dark. So much so we needed the light on all the time.

Parking is also at a premium. No spaces when we arrived but reception made a staff space available which was above and beyond their remit but really appreciated.

Breakfast was great, plenty of choice, the cooked breakfast looked lovely, continental was great too.

On the whole an average stay made very good by the shear commitment to good service that every member of staff provided during our stay.

Group booking made for wedding party. All staff friendly and helpful, ensured our rooms were all together and we could book in early. No problem parking in hotel car park. Great location, loved having breakfast overlooking waterfront. Funfair at rear of building which was no problem as out of room all day, returning late at night.

Room Tip: Rooms at front will be quieter

Visited family in Southsea, Portsmouth, staying at the Premier Inn. I checked with the receptionist on the say of travel, who showed exceptional kindness & smoothed out some of my anxieties. She was still there when we arrived in the evening, & greeted us warmly. The hotel is very close to the sea front & walking distance through a park to the shops. We stayed two nights, everything was beautifully clean, the team being very efficient. Covered, secure car parking is included. Will definitely stay again.

We stayed here for a night on 23 May 14, very close to the funfair but wasn't noisy. We were in room 36 which was on the top floor and had a great view looking at all the ferries coming and going. The room was very clean and as usual a very comfortable bed. We had the breakfast in the morning which was good apart from the eggs that had been fried and left under heaters for a while but i am sure you could have asked for a freshly cooked one as all the staff were very nice in the attached restaurant. It is a lovely coastal walk for about 20 minutes at a slow pace to get to Gunwalf shopping center. The hotel staff were very helpful directing you to were ever you want to go.

Room Tip: Top floor with even numbers you will have a nice view of the ferries.

We arrived in the afternoon and found a parking space straight away.
The lady at check in was lovely and helpful.
Our room was clean and having a family room with beds was good (previous stay at Slough not so good). Although we were next to the funfair, it didn't bother us as the kids were hyper anyway.
My only issue was the temperature in the room. 25deg but we had a stand alone fan (air conditioning would have been nice).
It was really close to the docks for our early morning ferry. So glad as Southsea is a real dirty dump doss hole.
Breakfast was super as were the waiting staff.
