We stayed at Florence Gardens Boutique mid-week for two nights. The breakfast and restaurant evening meals were excellent. We ate in the garden and used the main menu for starters and the bistro menue for main course. Both were very good and not overly expensive. Service was very good.

Parking is mainly on the street but there was no problem finding a space and the hotel provided a parking permit which was good for all day and night.

Our room (No. 1) was very clean, modern, well decorated and nicely furnished although the mattress was softer than we like. The supply of toiletries, etc. was excellent. However, the room was very small and directly overlooked the garden restaurant. The weather was hot and it was necessary to have the windows open. This made the room noisy until late. The hotel states that garden diners should vacate their tables by 10:15 but this did not happen on the first night that we were there and the inside restaurant, not far below the room, was being cleared up at quite a late hour.

The location of the hotel is convenient for the historic dockyard, being only a short bus-ride away.

We liked the hotel, the staff were friendly and efficient. We would stay there again but would specify a larger room not overlooking the garden and away from the restaurant.

Room Tip: Don't choose room 1 or possibly the one above it! If you need space, check with the hotel that...

Booked small double room for one night as no other rooms available. Reception very good. Room was indeed small but comfortable for a single night. Unfortunately it was just up the stairs from the restaurant so was very noisy up until the staff left and then again in the morning before breakfast. There appeared to be no sound proofing in the room and we could hear everything from the room above including the shower running and snoring! We ate in the Kitchen fine dining restaurant which was ok but not anything special I'm afraid. All in all disappointing.

We were touring the south coast, staying in different hotels each night. Florence Gardens Boutique Hotel was by far, the best out of all of them. The bed was so comfortable, the ambiance of the room & bathroom fantastic and the staff were a credit to the owners. We also had an evening meal and again, it was first class.
We would definitely stay again and would recommend without hesitation. Worth every penny!

Thank you to all the staff!

Small charming hotel unique facilities . Excellent friendly service ,high quality food.
We stayed only one night as we returning on the ferry from Spain before travelling home.
We would definitely stay again.

Many thanks to Mary for her excellent attention.

Room Tip: Choose rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor as these are more spacious

We've stayed in two of the Mercer Collection boutique hotels - Number Four and Florence Gardens - and both have been excellent. Great staff, service and rooms.

I can't see how anyone would regret staying at one of these hotels.

Found this hotel to be lovely and clean and in a nice location for the area. Staff were excellent and the breakfast had the best choices on our week's trip. We had booked the small double room with a shower. It was very clean and suited us down to the ground for 1 night's stay. The "shower room" WAS SMALL. The sink was at the side of the wall and so small you could only wash your hands at an angle. We would stay again if in the area, but would book a larger room if it had a larger bathroom. Parking can be an issue but the staff were very accommodating for us, and they give out on street parking permits if needed. The group own about 4 hotels all nearby. A person staying in one opposite said they were kept awake due to squeaking floorboards in the room above them.

We only stayed the one night, wished we had stayed longer. The food was better than most, the cleanliness was impeccable and the staff couldn't have been more helpful...even lugging heavy bags up three flights of steps for us with a smile on their faces!
