The B & B was central within Southampton and had friendly owners,
The room was rather small but the beds were very comfortable and warm. Could be cleaner but we weren't expecting the Ritz as it is a very reasonably priced place.
There are only 4 parking spaces, so I'd worry if there were more than 4 people who all drove there!
The soundproofing was awful as after we returned arount 11.30pm we could constantly hear people coming in and out and talking - doors slamming etc.
The breakfast that was included was very nice and there was a good range of options and we weren't waiting too long.
The wifi was free but in our room we had virtually no signal which was a bit of a bummer.
I would stay here again for sure if we go to a festival or something again next year.

We stayed at the Claremont Guest House for 6 days prior to embarking on a cruise. Our room was comfortable and surprisingly quite in spite of being at the front of the Lodgings. We found the Proprietors to be very friendly and welcoming and only too happy to answer any queries about trips to take, local transport and places to eat. Would highly recommend the Breakfast - cereals and juice and a good choice. The scrambled eggs were delicious. The accommodation is well patronised as is evident from the many 'return' customers we encountered during our stay. Rooms are small but we were lucky to get one of the larger rooms because of the length of our stay. Definitely would recommend to visitors to this city who are looking for reasonable and comfortable accommodation.

Room Tip: If you are after a larger room - probably suggest request No.1.

What you get is basic and cheap - don't expect any frills, but it's clean and functional, comfortable beds. Very convenient location for the central station. Sound-proofing isn't the best. Excellent breakfast though.

We booked this at very short notice as we were visiting our family. we were welcomed by the proprietors and shown to our twin room which was nicely furnished and spacious. it was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. We had a coffee and tea facilities. and a large tv. We knew this was not an un-suite and the toilet and bathrooms were very near and again spotless, and a night light was left on as there were stairs. The full breakfast was great, cereals, full English and plenty of toast and coffee. The area was great for walking into town and car parking out side the hotel was good. The wifi didn't work in our bedroom, although we had a card with the information on but we weren't too bothered. All in all a great stay and will use it again.

Room Tip: If they had en-suite suggest your book it.

Encouraged by positive reviews we booked this guesthouse, staff are pleasant and the food is good, but......................... The en suite room we were given was just no where near the accepted standard, ok for a bail hostel maybe, but for paying guests, no way, the room was very tired, and in need of some tlc, while the bathroom?? Needs to be pulled out and started again.
While we don't expect a guesthouse to be the Hilton, we have visited enough to be aware of the room standards we are able to expect,
Sadly the Claremont falls far short in this respect, we will not return!
