The food in this resturant is cooked to perfection with the most incredible subtle Indian flavours.
The resturant is comfortable, welcoming and friendly.
Staff are happy to order in your own time and willing to suggest dishes upon request.
Highly recommended....

i have been to this restaurant in Southampton with a couple of my English friends, the place is big with large tables where you have to get up to pick a dish on the other side, looks like novelty.

the owner or manager whose name is Ram but calls himself as Raam as in sheep and pronounces the same way sounded a bit odd,
he would come to the table and start explaining the poor guests how he started the joint and the philosy was to not to use any food coloring , less oil

but the food coloring indeed he used when we ordered gobi 65 and oil was floating on the bhindi masala.

this person was wildly gesticulating and insisting us to order for the Idli manchurian and Aloo Bonda , being Indian i know Aloo Bonda tastes the best when served from the frying pan to the plate, and more over Idli Manchurian is a result of the indian ingenuity but can only be made with left over idlis only fresh once will disintegrate in the oil.

however he offered us complementary of both the dishes which tasted awful,

the poor english waiters were completely lost as they refere the dish no instead of the dish name on the menu card.

Mr Ram this is not your passion but a way to earn your lively hood and stop hoodwinking unsuspecting locals.

We stumbled into this restaurant after being let down by the Coriander Lounge up the road. My husband likes his meat so wasn't immediately taken by the idea of a vegetarian restaurant. However, by the time we left he said it was the best Indian he had ever had. The food is very authentic and flavoursome. I think the previous review is right about it being a holistic experience. One I would be happy to repeat several times over.

From the outside this Indian looks like a regular Indian restaurant. However, upon entering the dining room you are welcomed by a charming atmosphere. We fell in love with the mish-mash of furniture(including a grandfather clock) and open plan kitchen, which allows you to see your food being prepared.
The staff were wonderful, particularly the front of house who had a character belonging to another era(and/or Indiana Jones movie). The service was exceptional, we were allowed to take our time and were not rushed through our courses. Their philosophy is legacy, a night to remember, not instant profit from a customer.
The menu has no meat, but this does not hinder the fantastic organic vegetable dishes on offer. Everything is imported from the family's 300 acre farm in Southern India, which they have owned for hundreds of years. This is the finest of Indian produce and you can really taste the difference on the plate.
I will be returning to Southampton High Street soon to experience the true taste of Indian cuisine.

the food was absolutely excellent, very authentic! It was a real 'foodie' location, a wide collection of completely delicious dosa! the decor was a bit cheap, the location was very hidden away and the owner, who served us, would literally not stop talking, which kind of interrupted how good the meal actually was. That said, the food was so good that it was still a wonderful meal. Excellent if you want something a bit different. Not for the unadventurous or for those who have major objections with hearing someone talk at you for 20 minutes.
