The good points first! Staff very helpful. Food excellent. Good transfer to cruise terminal. Bad points! Shabby carpets. Basic bed linen and toiletries. Towels threadbare. Shower very mouldy so did not use it. No breakfast tea bags in room. No teaspoons. No wine glasses. This was a Deluxe Room!! Had no dressing gowns. Very disappointed. And to top it all the Boat Show takes over!! Car had to be moved from main car park whilst we where away to construct one of the bridges for next weekend. Paid a lot of money for and will not return unless a miracle happens !!! There was also a wedding on so many guests where up till 4 in the morning outside our room shouting and smoking!! Place looked like a bomb had dropped probably due to lack of housekeeping staff.

Room Tip: This Hotel is noisy due to being on the main road so the sea views rooms which you pay extra for are...

I bought a spa day for my mum and myself for her 60th birthday...

I must say reading some of the reviews I was slightly worried I had spent the money and wouldn't be impressed however I was extremely impressed.

Treatments were relaxing and staff were ever so friendly And made you feel comfortable. Afternoon tea was more that enough and very tasty.

We had a lovely day and I have brownie points from my mum at the same time

We stayed the night before a cruise not as part of a park and stay as we had got to Southampton by train.
I asked prior to arriving for an upgraded room with a larger than double bed. Who sleeps in ordinary doubles in this day and age!
We did get one and this took our booking to £129.00 less than the rack rate but still too much for a hotel that needs refurbing and with no air conditioning.
The room was a very good size but shabby. The bathroom was large with a walk in shower in the corner that had seen better days but there was a shower over the bath.
The room had no balcony but a window overlooking the holiday inn and the docks.
The hotel is near enough to the shopping area. We ate in there at wagammama as it was raining and we could not be bothered to troll around.
Breakfast was surprisingly good and there were extras that you could order at an extra cost.
I used the pool it was okay but the steps leading down to it were a let down.
All the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. They are however fighting a losing battle for good reviews until some money is spent on it.

Room Tip: If you can ask for a refurbished room

This is a nice hotel from which we could see the cruise ships from our balcony. Their breakfast buffet is very good. The hotel's appearance is upscale and they offer the use of a complimentary computer/printer in the lobby. It is within walking distance to the old town in one direction where you will find restaurants offering many different kinds of cuisine and little shops. In the opposite direction are larger stores including an IKEA and a casino.

Room Tip: The cost of upgrading was well worth the money. The room had a balcony with a panoramic view of the...

We went to the Grand Harbour Hotel on a sunday night and had a dinner, bed & breakfast package.

After reading some of the reviews on here I was a bit skeptical, however I thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. We had a king executive room which was fantastic, with plenty of room, sea view balcony, tea makng facilities, mini fridge, large TV and fans - definitely appreciated the fans, a home comfort! The only thing I would say is that the bath/shower was a bit fiddly to use and took a while for the bath to fill up.

We used the spa facilities which were ok. If I was beig overly picky, the swimming area could of done with a lick of paint as there were obvious signs of rust on the stairs etc, but it was nothing major.

The dinner was beautiful! We have Chateaubriand and it was divine, I would 100% recommend it! I was so full from that, that I couldn't even manage any of the sides, but I think that may of been because we had some bread to start, whoops! Really great service and very attentive, thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Breakast was great too, we paid the extra and had it delivered to our room, but we had a full english, which came with toast and jam and natural yoghurt, plus tea and coffee - it was lovely :-)

I would not hesitate to stay here again (in a King Executive room), the hotel had a lovely feel and the rooms were excellent.

Room Tip: King Executive with sea view balcony!

We booked here through spa breaks and had a package deal which included a spa treatment, dinner, room and breakfast. Hotel was lovely and clean we had 2 rooms next to each other and had connecting doors which was great as we were staying as a group. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the shopping centre which was great.

We had spa treatments and swam in the pool and jacuzzi, staff were so lovely we couldn't fault them.

Dinner was in the number 5 restaurant and was delicious, breakfast the next day was also lovely and plenty of choice.

No bad word to say about this hotel apart from the £10 car parking fee! Would definitely return for another spa break If the price was right.
