Short stay for business, lovely room, comfortable bed, good shower, great breakfast, close to transport links. Parking in front of the building and near shops and restaurants. Recommendable and I will come back!

I stayed overnight at ibis prior to a cruise from Southampton . it is a ideal hotel to stay at as it is only a few minutes drive to the port . it is a modern looking hotel with a room that was clean and adequate for my needs .i had a couple of drinks the night of arrival in a well stocked bar and breakfast the day i left which was a full English . i would recommend this hotel to anyone for a short visit

Room Tip: it is nice to receive room overlooking car park and port

Great budget hotel. Wifi. Is free. Breakfast is ordinary. No toiletries and no sleepers. If you want a travel adaptor have to get your own. Good experience. There are a number of hotels around station is nearby city centre is also nearby.

Warm and Welcoming..Stayed overnight here prior to departing from Southampton on a Cruise. The Hotel is easy to find,as it is on one of the main routes into Southampton, Not to be confused with the IBIS Budget Hotel, which lies adjacent to this Hotel and shares the same car park as a couple of other Hotels.

The Hotel was very reasonably priced, costing £47 for our one night stay, the rooms are very clean, fresh and nicely decorated...............and best of all very quiet. All rooms have air conditioning and come with complimentary tea and coffee making facilities in the room. It has a wonderfully clean and modern shower/wc room with fresh clean towels provided. The beds are a King-size and are comfortable, there are loads of hanging space in the wardrobe and likewise lots of coat hangers. Modern tv wall-mounted with remote with access to most tv channels. Also close by are TGI Fridays (Diner), serving food until 11:00 pm with last orders being taken at 10:30 pm, and also a McDonald's close by. There is also the West Quay shopping centre a few 100 yards away. It is very close to to Dock Gate 10, giving easy access to both the City Cruise Terminal and the Mayflower Cruise Terminal which are 1.2 miles away form the hotel, and as we were departing on a cruise the following morning this hotel served our needs very well. A breakfast can be booked either at reception or during the online booking procedure and cost £7.95 for a buffet style breakfast which is served in the restaurant adjacent to the Hotel reception. Only real downside I found was that you have to enter the Car Park to get to reception, which issues you a car park ticket and that car park ticket cost another £6.00 for 24 hours, so value for money thats not bad, but for a overnight stay.....Mmmmm seems a little excessive but with the shopping centre close by I can see why they need to do that.
Generally a really nice hand place to stay with easy access to both Southampton and the Cruise Terminal, Thanks for a great stay

Room Tip: All rooms have Air Con triple glazing so back or front of the Hotel it will be quiet.

We visited Ibis Southampton Central on May 31st 2014 which is situated close to West Quay shopping centre, Southampton Central train station and the docks.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly lady on reception who made the process quick and easy.

We had booked two twin rooms and during booking requested they were near each other to which the hotel had fulfilled our request and we were checked into rooms 112/114 which had an adjoining door between them both.

Our rooms were basic but very clean! We had comfortable beds with mattress protectors on, a wardrobe with shelves and hangers, a desk/dressing table, hair dryer, television and air conditioning. I think if there could be some improvement perhaps a colourful picture on the wall would be nice to inject some life into the room. The bathroom was again very clean and tidy with towels, cups, hand wash and plenty of toilet roll though I did notice there wasn't a toilet brush.

Our rooms were situated at the back of the hotel which over looked a retail car park. It was very warm during the night so we kept our window open and we were kept awake by people riding their motorbikes in the car park. Obviously this is of no fault of the hotels but of you would prefer a quieter room it might be as well as to request a room at the front.

During the evening of our stay we had a drink in the lobby/bar of the hotel and we were served promptly and efficiently although we did feel the prices of drinks were a little on the high side!

We booked to eat breakfast at a cost of £7.95 each for an all you can eat continental and cooked breakfast. There was everything you could want. Cereal, toast, cooked breakfast, fruit, yogurts, juices, tea, coffee and was very nicely presented and tidy.

We paid to park in the hotel car park which cost £6 for 24 hours and you could come and go as you pleased. When we checked out we mentioned to the gentleman that we would like to go shopping and he extended our car park time free of charge so we didn't have to rush!

All in all a great stay and with a few tweaks this hotel could be perfect! I would definitely recommend Ibis Southampton Central.
