We often stay in Southampton and are regular visitors to the De Vere Grand Harbour hotel but decided to try the Novotel Hotel. The whole family loved it with the location perfect for our needs but also the staff were superb. I think it comes down to personal choice and we are happy with either hotel but we are planning a return to Southampton in early 2013 and Novotel will be our first choice.

Stayed here in an Executive Room for 3 nights. Note all rooms are the same size - the Executive Rooms include a few extras. The hotel is walking distance to the cruise port and the West Quay mall. The executive room needed new carpets and a bit more light. The Nespresso machine was great and included 4 capsules per day ! The free broadband was cable only, not wifi, so we could not use it for Skype or Viber calls. Did not use the dining room - breakfast was too expensive at 14 pound per person

Got a special deal through Le Accor membership that made the hotel value for money.

Would stay here again.

The hotel was convenient to both the train station and the port. We enjoyed a stroll to the old pat of town and the many restaurant choices nearby as well as in the hotel.

Lovely hotel just dismayed that when we arrived we were told that music would be playing until 1am and that it may keep us awake but we could upgrade for £10 a room and be on level 3 annd not 1, and therefore could be guaranteed a quiet night. The bathroom taps hit the overflow hole when put on gently which smelt like pond water and there was no wash hand basin in the toilet 'cupboard' which is not hygienic. I filled in an online survey of our stay and an apology was issued but no incentive to stay there again.

Thank you for taking the time to comment regarding your recent stay at Novotel Southampton. I have noted your comment regarding the Bathroom tap and the WC – which is standard for a Novotel Novation room. Our Superior rooms do come with upgraded Toiletries and also a separate Shower and Bath. We do hold events at Novotel Southampton; these do not normally disrupt our residents. Again thank you for your comments.

We had enjoyable stay. The staff were, in our experience, all friendly, helpful and cheerful, The only problem with the rooms we had were they were a little gloomy, it was hard to read during the day without a light on and the lights did not seem to be in the best position for casual reading.

I stay at the Novotel Southampton occasionally on business and it suits me very well - I always get a quiet, clean room to unwind in and a comfortable bed for a good night's sleep. The staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful. The only disappointment is dinner in the restaurant. The dishes look appealing but are underseasoned and bland, and the menu has hardly changed in the last year. Could do better! Breakfast is perfectly acceptable, however. Also... Novotel, nobody likes those little solo eating booths! I watched four or five single diners come in, turn down the delightful chance to eat 2ft from a TV screen and ask for a regular table (as did I). Perhaps you could use the space more effectively?

It is great to read feedback from a return guest. Our Elements menu is available at all our Notvotel’s in the UK and we commence our new Menu in the middle of November, this will now be updated every 3 months in turn with the seasons. I will be passing your comments onto our team and thank you for your kind words – it means a lot to the team to read them. Thank you for your constructive comments relating to our TV Diners. I look forward to having you stay with us again in the future.
Kind Regards
