Just got back from long weekend at Holmsley and very impressed with site - would use again!! Great little shop, very well stocked and surprisingly fairly priced - clearly not trying to make money out of people as many of these site shops do. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only let down was number of showers, being high season there could be a queue to use these. But overall would definitely recommend.

I have now used a few sites in the New Forest and came here as my regular one was full. I have a very large American motorhome so need quite a bit of space so booked a premier pitch. This is where they do need some improvement. There are no specific pitches so you have to find a suitable area when there. No issue at all when quiet season but in peak could be a major obstacle. That said we parked on a level area of tarmac with the awning out over grass. LOVELY

We were welcomed by very friendly staff who helped us alot. Show a good area to park. Site has plenty of toilets and showers which at peak times were a bit busy but I did not have to wait. They were cleaned often. It is a big open site in places so not as quiet as some in the day but no issue at night. If you want seclusion not for you here. The location I thought was great as it was in a different area to where I normally go being a short drive to the sea and ringwood and yet being very close to GREAT CYCLE TRACKS!
For an extra £3 we did not have to leave until 1500hrs (Worth booking) In peak season not cheap but about the norm.
The shop could do with more useful items but is adequate.
I will certainly go back and for me is worthy of 4 stars. (we had great weather too !)

Our first camping trip as a family of 4 with a dog. The shop was well stocked for all the last minute things you might need when camping especially an awesome coffee machine for those early mornings when you need a coffee and your stove wont work! Staff are super friendly and helpful. All mature staff that know the camp site well and what its like to camp with kids and a dog. Showers clean and so are the toilets - there are also enough of them around and we never had to wait. Washing up room for dishes was very handy and also clean. We where lucky and found a spot away from the masses - which would not have been pleasant. We where amongst the trees and tucked away from the masses. Burley village near by and so is Mudeford beach all very lovely. I would suggest not pitching near the middle of the camp site if you want quiet ...

Room Tip: Opt for no electric hook ups if you want to be away from the crowds ...

A well run site in a great location for accessing local trails. The wardens are friendly and welcoming. We found a good pitch for our campervan although as a disused airfield the unusual hard standing layout reflects the original function of the site. The site is great for children -safe and perfect for them to ride their bikes.

First family camping trip, great welcome from Holmsley staff and cracking advice on best pitch location. Had a fantastic weekend, clean facilities, good little (very busy) shop and weather treated us well as well! Highly recommend not taking your own breakfast as freshly baked bread and croissants are to die for!

As a family we have camped at Homsley twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times.
The play area seems to be the local meeting place for the children & they soon make friends.
Homsley is down a very quiet road with free parking outside if taking a second car.
The on-site shop is well stocked & there is also a small take-away service run from the shop which had a FSA 5* rating.
Homsley is set in a beautiful part of the Forest with lovely walks & cycle routes from the campsite - we shall definitely visit again.

We booked this place at the last minute, but was glad we did as gets very busy in height of season. We were here at beginning of June & we almost had the place to ourselves!! You have to find your own spot as no real layout exists, a free for all as others have mentioned, but still there is always a space available somewhere. Although very busy the site & facilities were always kept clean with plenty of hot water & free showers!!. Staff very friendly & helpful. Great little shop with fresh bread & produce. Brillant to see the wild ponies & cows wandering around & great location for walking & cycling. Christchurch Quay & Mudeford Quay within easy driving distance & well worth a visit, although get there early as parking can be difficult when weather good.

Room Tip: Arrive early to get a good spot, especially if you have a large tent etc
