Review of Town Quay

Town Quay
Reviewed 2 July 2014

Do not take your car onto Town Quay, number plate recognition is in operation on car park which has ambiguous and confusing signage, giving the operator ample opportunity to slap a £100 ticket on the windscreen. A few years ago this was a vibrant cafe society area a nice place to visit for a drink or a meal, today most of the shops and bars are closed with lots of empty units it all looks a bit drab. On the plus side it's a good vantage point to view the passing ships, just don't take the car.

Robin Hood stole from the rich to give to the poor.... a different sort of theft is taking place at Town Key so simply stay away.... do not go near the place....

When developed some years back, this was a bustling place with shops, bars, restaurants, ferries. Now, its run down with just a small sandwich place left. It's miserable and only worth visiting to leave it - on a ferry. It needs investment. The car park occupies a peachy spot and will sure be covered in expensive apartments one day....

If you take a car onto Town Quay, be aware that the moment you leave the public road you have 15 minutes grace before you are fined £100 for being in a 'short stay' parking zone.

Even if you don't park!

No barriers, no clear indication, just looks like a public road.

Town Quay has a poorly sign posted Parking Eye car park facility. No warnings given that this is a 24 hour operation with a £100 fine and video camera number plate recognition. Is this legal? Disgusting way to rip off potential customers. Not surprised the place is run down with many closed units.
