“Good Hotel but Breakfast a Shambles”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

A good clean and comfortable hotel with close access to the cruise terminals and ferries to isle of white.
The hotel was only let down by the chaotic breakfast buffet which ran out of everything at least twice on both mornings of my stay, only one coffee machine to serve all the guests not nearly enough to prevent queues , staff were very helpful and tried their best but needed back up from he kitchen .

Room Tip: A quad room was plenty big enough for a family of four wit a 12 and 15 year old. We had a room at...

Stayed two nights here in August 2013. Expensive room with no breakfast and no free wi-fi. Rude check in staff. Should have stayed at the Holiday Inn close by as they a least has a sea view. Would not come back.

Our second visit here lovely hotel for what it is the staff all are a credit to premier inn.
Not much to say really nice clean rooms and shower try and stay on the 4th of 5th floors as the traffic can be noisy !!!!
Breakfast was nice all the staff are very helpful !!!!
My only concern was that the hotel bless them have put tongs which are labelled for the hot food to stop cross contamination !!!!!
But some people are so inconsiderate they will use the same tongs for the vegetarian food that they have been using to eat their piglets !!!!!
I think it should be banned like smoking outdoors only
Anyway this has no reflection on the hotel !!!!
Thank you guys x

We stayed here at the same time of year last year and said it was the best Premier Inn we had ever stayed in. Stayed here for one night in July this year and although it was OK for our stay, certain things seemed to have gone downhill a bit.

WELCOME - the welcome and check in certainly wasn't as friendly and efficient as before - maybe due to new staff?

ROOM - the room was standard Premier Inn quality, which is very good. Cleanliness OK and location was fine. We were on the 5th floor so no noise from above, in fact we didn't hear any noise from anywhere during our stay. The roads around the hotel are quiet. We couldn't get the temperature quite right on the air con unit so ended up sleeping in jumpers. If we had been there for more than one night we would have asked reception for assistance but as we didn't arrive until 9pm and checked out at 9am, it didn't seem worth it.

CAR PARK - you have a choice of two car parks - one behind the hotel which is a multistorey and gets locked at about 10pm, or one over the road which is free from 6pm to 8am.

RESTAURANT - although the restaurant was not busy, the service was extremely slow and we had several people looking after us, hence some confusion with which orders had been taken and which hadn't. We were charged the wrong amount; not told that the drinks we ordered were not on the meal deal until after we'd paid; and then called back down from our room to pay more as the total hadn't been calculated correctly! The food itself was not very hot and the pasta was dry.
Breakfast was OK, mainly because it was self-service!

All in all a bit disappointing, seeing as last year was so good.

Stayed here on a Sunday night with the wife and another couple. We were all very pleased with our stay in this fairly new, clean, and well located hotel.
Meal deal is a must and great value.
Shops near by including the new shopping centre.
If you want an easy day get the near by ferry to Hythe and catch the beach bus to Lymington, great relaxing trip through the new Forrest. Lepe looked nice and could be worth a visit.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my family (2 adults + 2 children) as we were going to peppa pig world. The room was plenty big enough for us all and was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the breakfasts on both occasions were fine. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Premier Inn Southampton at the beginning of July this year and had a very comfortable stay. It is very well located in West Quay with a big shopping mall nearby.
The staff are efficient, delicious breakfasts (like all the Premier Inns we stayed at) and the rooms clean with comfortable beds. The Costa Coffees were appreciated too. Would stay again.
