Now closed. I have to make this review 100 words for it to be accepted! This museum is now closed, some of the exhibits can be found in the Sea City museum at the civic centre . Not a lot else to say, except that you might want to have a look at the Tudor house Museum - you can go through the entrance shop area, to the coffee shop and out into the lovely Tudor Garden at the back without paying, and find yourself on top of the old city walls. here are some good old prints of Southampton on the way.

Not an easy museum to find.No exact address given on the Councils website. My sat nav showed i had arrived when i was 200 yards away.It took directions from 2 seperate museums and another half hour of walking on a very warm day to find this. Most suprisingly the location of the museum was not signposted. It is in a very small turning,Winkle Street, just on the righthand side at the bottom of the High Street coming up from the River.I was exhausted by the time i arrived and to be honest i only spent 10minutes wanderin around this museum which was built into the old city wall.It seemed much the same as many other such museums in many other cities. It was hardly surprising that there was only one other person in the museum. What is the point of having a museum unless it can be easily located. So if you are interested in Archaeology then it is worth a visit. If not try one of the more easily located museums.
