We had a little problem finding the hotel as the Rosebowl wasnt very clearly signposted, but when we did, we were perfectly happy with what we found.

Check in was quick, although they werent particularly friendly. There were 3 of us staying and the room was perfectly adequate, although the sofa bed had a huge ridge just were your back would be if you were lying in the correct place, luckily our son is only 9 and slept halfway down the bed, so bear this in mind if you have older children. Our bed was comfortable and the shower great.

Breakfast was a bit of a free for all and I would have liked a second hot drink but was prepared to rejoin the queue. We have stayed at another express and it was easy to refill your cup and also there were 2 sets of breakfast so no queuing. It was adequate considering the price we had paid.

We would stay there if back in the area and couldnt get booked closer to West Quay

Clean and comfy room with all you need for a nights stay. Okay size for two people but a tight squeeze if you have to use the pull out bed. Good standard of breakfast included in the rate but the food at night not so impressive and pretty poor quality. Would stay again if needed to be in the area.

This hotel doesn’t pretend to be anything special, which is good, because it isn’t.

Everything works, staff are helpful, rooms are clean, but it’s a long walk from the central lifts to the “wings” of the hotel. Although parking is free, the internet isn’t and if you’re on the back side of the hotel in one of the “wings” the signal is poor and intermittent and £6.50 for 4 hours is a pure waste of money.

Bar was reasonably priced but impersonal; breakfast was good but very “cafeteria.”

Tea and coffee in room. Shower only, no bath.

Personally, prefer the Premier brand, but needs must.

I would stay again, but only if there wasn’t any room, elsewhere.

Reasonable value, but not great.

Room Tip: If internet access is important so you can work don't take a room on the back of the hotel in th...

Receptionist not very friendly, only spoke to say what she had too. Was not impressed that the family room we had booked consisted of a double bed then a further pull out double, so our two kids had to share, which is not good with a 5 year old and 2 year old, felt we should of been informed of this.
Breakfast was good and the breakfast staff excellent and great with helping with kids, think the young lady was called sabrina (Long blond hair), thanks to her.
Overall fine for our reason to stay and that was visiting peppa pig world, great location for this. And yes would use again.

No problems with arrival. A large car park with just about enough spaces. They had correct booking details. The male receptionist at check in was efficient, though not very welcoming. The receptionist at check out was more friendly.

The room was warm, clean, and seemed newly decorated. It was reasonably furnished, except for not having drawer storage, and the sofa bed seemed badly put together and not very comfortable. That said, my son slept well in it. The TV had the full range of Freeview channels. The bathroom was clean, modern and in perfect working order, with enough towels for 3 of us every day. The room was kept very clean throughout our stay by the chambermaid, who was always friendly in passing.

Breakfast was a bit basic but reasonable for the room price: a continental selection plus 3 cooked items: egg, beans and either bacon or sausage each day. The only downside was that at peak times it was exceptionally busy and set up so you have to join one big and very slow moving queue to get anything, even tea and coffee. Staff did their best, but struggled to keep up with food items or cutlery or crockery running out.

The location is excellent for getting about to explore visitor attractions in Hampshire and the New Forest.

For the rate per room, for 3 of us staying in it, on a cheap late booking (we used Tripadvisor which took me to Expedia with an extra 5% discount and Nectar points), it was good value for money: being clean, comfortable and in the right location. We would definitely stay again if we could get the same rate.

I stayed here for the first time and know HI Express well, so know what to expect and I was not let down. The rooms are the standard HIe layout, which I do like and the furniture is the usual items, with a comfortable bed and quiet nights.
Breakfast was a queue, but there was a warning notice on the reception desk that it would be busy at 9am. The hotel was full and as it was the Jubilee bank holiday there were a lot of children, so I understand the reason for this.
Service was good but not the fasted, however, no more than a few minutes wait to be served.

HI Express is good value for money and just what I need.

Just stayed for 3 nights. Shared a twin room which was adequate for my friend and me. Shower hot and powerful, towels large and general room facilities good. Very high standard of cleanliness all through the hotel.

Breakfast, although busy, was good and sufficient choice to suit most people.

Two niggles. I could never get a car park space when we returned to the hotel at night. Ended up each time parking next to the shrubs. Also some problems at check in. The receptionist could not locate our reservation. I tried to look for the confirmation email on my ipad but no 3G reception. When I asked could I use wifi I was told I would be charged for it! Not impressed by that at all! The receptionist kept telling us she was sure we were booked into one of the other locations even though we knew we had not. Just debating on driving to the nearest MacDonalds for complimentary wifi when the problem was sorted. Cannot believe that Holiday Inn would not allow me 5 mins of free wifi in order to sort out a problem.

Niggles aside we would stay here again due to price and cleanliness.
