Six of us 'dined' at this restaurant on Friday evening last as an early weekend treat. My friend booked the table for us through the new website tablepouncer - where restaurants offer reduced price meals. This one was offering 50% off - so it was a good deal for us all.
However, on arriving at 8pm, we sat down, ordered some drinks ... and ordered some more drinks .... and ordered some more drinks. No sign of menus as yet! Finally, at just gone 8.30pm, they arrived and we placed our orders. Poppadoms, starters and mains. The poppadoms came and were fairly quickly devoured. And then another wait for the starters .......
Eventually, they came. I will point out at this moment that there was us and 2 other tables filled. So, not exactly packed out!! The starters arrived - they were ok, not exactly top quality but, again, well eaten.
And then yet another looooooooong wait. At 9.45pm, we decided enough was enough but, bang on cue, here arrived the main courses. Hmmmm - wish we hadn't bothered to wait! Mine (a lamb madras) was quite simply a handful of pieces of meat and gloopy gravy. One of our guests ordered a lamb jalfrazi - well, it was jalfrazi but quite where the lamb was is anyone's guess! When he complained to the manager, he stomped over and started fishing through the jalfrazi, picking out the meat and dumping it on his plate.
It was simply not good enough and when the manager started to get aggressive and abusive, it was definately time to leave. "Well, you book through tablepounce so you get what you deserve" was his quote. If his restaurant didn't want the custom from that website - then don't put yourself on there.
I am not a small man and I have had a good few curries from all over the country. This was, without doubt, the worst and coupled with the abuse ... I will not be returning and would advise others not to either.
