Further to my recent negative review about the rude landlady, it seems the landlord is equally as rude. The landlord complained because I was paying by card. I said it was still money in his pocket but he said it was slow and why couldn't I pay with cash. Unbelievable and a great shame because its a nice pub.

Travelled from Ipswich, meeting relatives on way to funeral in Portsmouth. Met at Brigadeer Gerard for lunch. Very nice staff. Food very good, could not be faulted.

Divided to pop in for lunch, the decor inside is very nice, the service was ok, but did feel pressured to order our food quickly. The quality of the food is very good but the portions are a little small. I would eat there again

On my recent visit with my girlfriend I was left unimpressed, as we sat down the couple next too us were complaining about there £20 steak that was overcooked, anyway back to our meal my starter of smoked salmon and crayfish was very good however I opted for the lamb shoulder for my meal and well..... It was like a 5year old tried to cook it it was labelled as slow cooked but it wasn't tender at all it had more fat than meat, it was like the lamb was bought from a value range at a supermarket and then they charged me 17quid for it

I won't be returning as their are plenty of restaurants/pubs in the southampton area of better quality for the same price
