“Great small quaint village with Some Interesting shops”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

Places to sit overlooking the Southampton Water(Lighthouse), Seashells has a great balcony. The ferry from Southampton gives access across the water and from the Marina theee is a great view of visiting Cruise Liners. Great place to spend a few hours.

“Quiet New Forest village”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 January 2014

A quiet New Forest village with a few shops affording pleasant views across the river to Southampton and a small train along a Pier to the ferry across to Southampton. Very peaceful and relaxing and a short stroll from the Boathouse Hotel. Do pay a visit to Hobbits Restaurant for an excellent Dinner and live music.

“Hythe, lovely village.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 January 2014

Situated between the New Forest, and the western side of Southampton Water, this lovely village
is a good place to visit, overlooking the water, where you have good views of all the cruise ships
in Southampton. There is a wonderful little high street, with old shops and pubs for a bit of shopping, and also many eating places for a nice meal or snack. The promenade or Hythe Marina, provide the best locations to take your pictures of the Cruise ships, as many visitors do in the summer months. The Hythe Ferry, which sails between Hythe and Southampton, makes a
nice trip across the water, from the pier which runs every 30 mins, and takes about 10mins.
As Hythe is close to The New Forest, a lot of people visit Hythe, and Beaulieu which is about
15 min drive away. Tuesday is market day. Hythe is a ideal place to stay overnight if you are
going on a cruise from Southampton, as there are good B&B's and Hotels, and only takes about
30 mins drive to the docks.

“Fresh food, eat in or take-away”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2013

Regularly buy some daily fresh soup for my lunch and if the bread stall is set up outside it has a delicious choice. Quite small inside and I am sure they wish they had more room as it is popular. Definitely the nicest cafe food in Hythe and a stroll around the shops, on the sea promenade is a pleasant experience. If you have time book into the local Prescents beauty salon for a quick treatment, the staff are lovely.
