“Wonderful stay!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 October 2013

Highly impressive stay at the Premier Inn. I stayed with my 3 children as visiting my daughter at Uni. We stayed from 26th October till 28th Oct. I was impressed with the rooms, bedding and staff.

The breakfast was fantastic and although some people complained about the service on Mon (28/10) they did not realise this was due to them being under staff due to false weather alert!

The staff in the kitchen worked very well considering the staff shortage and i must praise them for keeping it together when others were complaining!!

Well done to all the staff at Premier Inn Southampton. We will be sure to book again. :-)

We stayed here whilst visiting family in the area. The hotel was clean and reasonably easy to find. The car park was okay although gets very busy. We opted to have breakfast and pre-booked this. There was a good selection and the young man that's served us was very attentive.

We used the restaurant once and only ordered deserts. I don't think they had components for some of the deserts, as after ordering a berry trifle I received parts of it along with Eton mess, not sure quiet how that happened but it tasted okay.

We would stay here again if in Southampton, rooms were exactly as advertised. We had a room next to the rail track but we didn't find it a problem. If you want one away from the track I advise asking for one, plus I recommend arriving before evening on a week day to secure a parking space

Stayed here on an overnight before a cruise from Southampton as I think a lot of people do.... A good straightforward hotel with a good basic restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Its not luxurious, but you not paying for a hotel with swimming pool, fitness centre etc., but good standard accommodation and the rooms are fine. Staff good too.

5 minutes walk from the centre of Southampton, this Premier Inn is larger than most in the chain. Only 2 small differences from their other hotels:
1) It's looking a little tired, not dirty, but just needs a lick of paint here and there.
2) The small car park (4 pounds per night) gets full at weekends. But don't let that put you off as there's council parking (cheaper if you time it right) just a few minutes away.
The Premier Inn standard breakfast was very good - no tired eggs here. And all staff were very friendly indeed.
Being city centre has it's advantages (you can get to lots of bars & restaurants easily) and disadvantages (weekend parties staying - though this is true for any hotel like this in every city centre).
Overall, a positive experience.

Room Tip: Website says next to railway, though this is in a deep cutting and mostly electric trains so don'...

This was my first visit to a Premier Inn. The staff were certainly friendly and helpful. The room was basic as expected and I woke with a sore back every morning (I was there for a week) I visited the eatery a couple of times and what annoyed me what the lack of information regarding its opening hours. I couldn't find the times other than for breakfast on my arrival and there was no phone in the room. It was okay and I would probably stay here again as it is conveniently in the middle of town.

I've stayed in this hotel several times as i have family and friends that live nearby. I've stayed in three different rooms in the hotel, all of which were very clean and well looked after. The staff there have always been more than friendly in all of my visits and the hotel breakfast is very good. Occasionally i've had to park in an overflow car park due to parking spaces being full at the hotel site, but its close to the hotel. The hotel is a short pleasant walk away from the city centre no longer than five minuets away. Would thoroughly recommend.

Stayed here a few times when visiting the Mayflower Theatre which is just a 10 min walk away. Shops etc also about 10 min walk. Parking is ok if you arrive before check in time, later on in the afternoon the car park fills up quickly.
Never had any complaints with the hotel, does what it says on the tin really. Very comfy beds! And the staff are always very friendly! Wishing you a good evening, asking about the show when you return.
Breakfast whilst good with great choice was a tad on the expensive side. Although apparently there's a special deal where if you eat in the restaurant in the evening you get breakfast free, but we didn't notice this until the morning which was a shame.
All in all, its a good choice if your visiting the theatre.

Room Tip: Try to get a room at the front of the hotel, as the main train line runs along the back of the hotel...
