Not easy to find the car park entrance in the dark on busy roads. The car park is very small but the friendly attendant found me a space straight away. The parking meter is £4 but be careful - if you dont press the yellow button you only get 4 hours, not the 24 hours for residents. The machine is labelled but an easy mistake to make in a strange car park. Thankfully the very helpful attendant appeared without me asking and sorted my mistake at no extra cost.

The room was well priced, good decor, spacious and warm. The restaurant was a real surprise - on the 5th floor it has great views and a nice atmosphere with cool background music. Best of all the restaurant staff are very friendly and efficient. Being away from home on business, this was a really pleasant stay that you dont usually get in chain hotels. Well done.

Room Tip: Avoid the 4th floor rooms as its very noisy until around 11pm - I think its underneath the restauran...

Booked 2 nights & was pleased to arrive, park up the car underneath & able to leave it for our whole stay as the city is just a stroll away..
Rooms & bathroom clean & cosy, tv a bit dated but never really used it...
Cracking breakfast selection, large americans clogging the queue as they couldn't grasp the concept of 'serve yourself' so had to demonstrate how to put items on ones plate & select something else if anything had run dry... Not a fault of the hotel though & staff were more than polite to them...

I love Premier Inn for business and they correctly advertise the location next to a train line, but if placed in a room over the line don't expect to sleep well!
I would try this hotel again but request a room away from the line.

Stayed here for 1 night just after new year, we normally stay in Bournemouth Central premier inn but thought we would have 1 night in southampton en route, easy check in by friendly staff member, great breakfast on the 5th floor overlooking southampton, room was a little tired, bed was not the usual very comfy bed, quite hard infact, we both had a poor nights sleep which is very unusual for premier inn, due to a number of things, bed, argument outside at 2am & also a storm outside which I understand is out of premier inns hands, not one to complain to staff but did mention it to staff at checkout to which the staff did apologise for our bad nights sleep but made no mention of their good nights sleep policy, we are now settled into the Bournemouth Central premier inn for 2 nights of great sleep, I would like to say we used to stay in the Hilton's around the country but feel premier inns are fantastic value

We booked the hotel as we had to travel to Southampton for Daughters Graduation. Excellent value at £29 pn. The staff were excellent, friendly, helpful without being over the top or pushy. Room spotless and comfortable. Bed linen and towels fresh. Good idea to put restaurant on 5th floor as good view looking out at night. Would use Premier Inn again.

Stayed only one night and had the best night's sleep we've had for ages.
The Hotel was well located, an easy walk into the main shopping centre.
The room we had was spacious, warm and comfortable. And the staff were cheerful friendly and helpful.
We had an evening meal in the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. Excellent food and reasonably priced.
Would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: Don't be afraid to ask for an upgrade. The staff are there to help make you stay a pleasant one...

My wife and I booked a one night stop over on 22nd December when we delivered Christmas presents to some friends. The hotel was easy to locate but it was a nightmare finding the entrance in the very busy city centre. We received a warm welcome from the receptionist. Our room was clean, tidy and spacious but felt quite cold. We turned up the thermostat but it had no effect on the heating so it remained cold throughout our stopover. The lock on the security door on floor 2 was faulty. It operated fine from the staircase side but it was practically impossible to get the door to open from the bedroom corridor. On one occassion we had to wait for someone to open it from the staircase side. We visited the restaurant for a evening meal. We both had rump steak with a few trimmings. The whole meal, with the exception for the French Fries, was tasteless. One desert was profiteroles which I can only describe as disgusting - no chocolate coating, a thin milky filling and a watery sauce (for £4.85). To round off our perfect evening in style, the restaurant felt cold. One highlight was the waitress (Amy) who was a charming young lady who put all the diners at ease and had quite a few of them, including us, chuckling. Breakfast was very well presented and there was a good choice of drinks, cereals and cooked meals as well as a Continental offering. We couldn't believe that they had run out of marmalade at breakfast in an English restaurant!!!! All-in-all a bad experience which was definately not value for money and will not be repeated.
