“Nice clean hotel with a great staff.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

We stayed overnight here on a friday ,we arrived early and the car park attendant was sooo helpful as my mother has a walking frame and scooter he deserves 5*.
It was clean ,great beds ,triple glazing and a cool bedroom . The restaurant was nice ,food was very good too .
Can't fault it except I hated the pillows and no walk in shower for disabled guests .
We will be using Premier inn whenever we can now and can def recommend.
They called the room to see if we needed anything .A+

Room Tip: All good rooms and fairly quiet too.

Stayed here for 2 nights and yes it is right next to the tracks but they clearly state this on the website. Kelly was friendly, polite and helpful. She issued my parking permit with no issues after I couldn't get the permit machine to work. The room was ok. I think we may have had a family type room as we had a sofa bed thing instead of table and chairs which was slightly disappointing.

The shower was poor. It was very weak and some of the shower head holes were blocked but apart from this, the room was ok.

On arrival there was a large number of guests waiting to check in with only one reception person dealing with a considerable number of customers then another reception person arrived after 10 minutes then another after 10 minutes a number of people including myself was not happy

After about 25 minutes I checked in and got to my room then had an evening meal I found this acceptable but the mixed grill for the portion I found unacceptable for the price and was disappointed

Room Tip: The receptionist in the morning was really helpful and very efficient and when I told her the proble...

I made my reservation for this hotel on the internet during a stay in the Swissotel Zurich a couple of weeks earlier. Obviously very different classes of hotel with very different prices, and with the memories of my stay at the Swissotel still quite strong, I was expecting to be disappointed.

But I wasn't. My room was large, well furnished and comfortable. The bathroom was bigger than that in Zurich, and worked better. The breakfast was tasty and, unlike many budget hotel's buffets, hot. The staff were pleasant and helpful. In fact just about the only give away that this was a budget hotel was the credit card reader on the in-room phone.

If Premier Inn were to open a hotel this good in Zurich, I'd leave my Circle card at home and chose it in preference to the Swissotel.

I stayed with my wife before setting off on a cruise and it was a good choice of hotel. We can highly recommend it. Service was good, pleasant staff and the evening meal and breakfast was good.We had an excellent sleep in a very clean room with a very high quality mattress. They even give a sleep guarantee which gives you money back if you don't sleep - quite a promise!

The only issues were:

1) The self service buffet breakfast was disorganised, you had to keep going back for items. Tea was not served by the staff which it should be , so it was cold before you got your grill, or vica versa in my wife's case. If you are like us you need lots of hot tea with your cooked breakfast. The croissants were cold so the waitress obligingly came back with it heated but it had turned in to a rock!

2)The lack of car parking spaces. After a 4 hour drive we arrived and there was no parking at the hotel, we were directed to a location (written directions) which is away from the hotel Problem was that this involved walking through a graffiti written subway with 'hoodies' on bikes riding around next to cheap housing. We didn't feel we could leave our car safely there, so we parked outside the Civic centre which seemed safer and we had a long walk back. In the morning we had to walk back to the car and were able to park up outside the hotel , but this is a pay and display. One member of staff said we needed to pay (there were notices up saying you would be fined), another said that we would be ok for 30 minutes so we packed in haste.

I don't see that they can resolve this so if you are going to stay arrive early and pay up, or get dropped off or take an old car.

stayed at the central premier inn a few months back to and do abit of last shopping, we arrived at the hotel, looked very dated and cold, we though this was going to be a hotel from hell.. BUT the red headed girl on reception in the morning (chelsea ann i think it was) made us feel very suprised...very bubbly, chatty and made us feel extreamly welcoming, check in isnt untill 2pm however we arrived earlier around 10am'ish and thought we could chance it... yes she went that extra mile and got us a room!! thank god!! it was a standerd room, masive bed, and cute little tea and coffee's... popped in the resturant on the top floor and had some breakfast before heading out, it was lush!! bacon was crispy and the eggs were really runny, just how i like it!! the chef came out and asked us how everything was, made converssation witch we though was really nice as not alot of hotels does that, the resturant staff were amazing aswell, very polite and offical... the receotionest asked how everything was and if she could do anything else for us, she offered us a map of the towncentre and directed us in all the directions we could ask for... towncentre is in walking distance 5-6 minutes from the hotel, we didnt eat in the resturant that evening as we had reservations else where however we did get a drink, mark? was super friendly, asked us what we'd had done and was very interested in our experiance.. will most definitly be coming back :D a massive thank you to her and all the team at city :D

Stayed in Premier Inn Southampton on 25/5/14 for 1 night in family room with wife and 2 grandsons. Arrived 15.30, check in fine but would not take credit card so drinks etc could put on room ? Had to pay for everything with cash !
Close to shops short walk. Booked meal deal, so kids ate free, evening and breakfast, food was OK at best on night time what we ordered wasn't available strongly enough, breakfast was OK. Bar/pub next to restaurant was full to the brim very lucky to obtain 4 seats far to small. Slept good no noise. On the whole what we paid for what you got was OK don't think I'd stay there again unless Holiday Inn was full.
