How can i sum it up better than their own slogan!
I stayed here for one night on a friend's stag party, check in was quick and easy and all four of our rooms were together and they were all exactly the same size and standard. All the rooms had flat screen TV's, tea/coffee/biscuits, air conditioning. Every time we entered or left the hotel the staff in reception always acknowledged us in a friendly manner, this was the same in the hotel bar. The bar is located on the 5th floor and is modernly decorated and is a good size. We didn't eat at the restaurant but this also looked nice.
Overall, a very nice stay and would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from the city centre/shops and a 15-20 minute walk from Southampton Central train station.

Reviews consistently mention the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff of this hotel and I agree with them. I asked for a specific type of room which they were able to give me and, being a returning guest two weeks later, asked about left luggage. They told me they would keep my luggage until a room became free. In fact when I got to the hotel very early and asked to leave it, they told me I could have a room straight away and gave me the same one as the time before. There seems to be good teamwork and a pleasant atmosphere.
The location is in a noisy area and a slight amount of that noise can be heard in the rooms but it was not so intrusive that I was unable to sleep.

Luckily we stayed at the City Centre Premier Inn only one night. It was very noisy and cold (the windows should definitely be changed).
The room was depressing and crummy, facing a heavily trafficked road and did not look very clean either.
Soon after we arrived and without any warning (and my husband was on the phone) they started to make extremely loud and unpleasant fire alarm tests, so after a few minutes we had to leave. When I complained to the reception the man chuckled and said that it was normal procedure.
The breakfast was nothing special, beware of the scrambled eggs which were more like cold, tasteless little stones.

Had to park across the road as the parking was full when i got there at around 8.30pm but was no problem and quite cheap at £3.70 for 12 hours.
Check in was quick and the staff were polite and cheerful which was nice, stayed on the 6th floor with views of the football stadium which is why i went there so that was nice.
Nice rooms, very claen with a lovely bed with thick mattress which was very comfy, free view TV which was good, paid 10 pounds for Internet access for 24 hours which was fairly speedy too.
Bad points are the rooms have very bad installation and we could hear people in other rooms and the outside world was inside as you could hear everything outside, it was like having the window open and this did affect my sleep with police sirens waking me up.
Also the window is full of birds droppings and its not very pleasant looking out with this all over the window so this needs to be sorted.
The breakfast was 7 pounds i think with kids eating free with a paying adult and it was eat as much as you like, cooked very well and was although quite expensive worth it.
All in all not a bad stay and would stay there again.

Located just a short walk from the city centre, we arrived by coach which is within walking distance, although a long walk with luggage. The staff were friendly and helpful, giving us advice and a map of the city. The room was large, well lit and with a view across the city, although a busy railway ran alongside the hotel and our room was on the 2nd floor we were not effected by any noise.
We did not eat at the hotel as we had better and cheaper options close by in the town.
We took a taxi from our hotel to our cruise line at Ocean Terminal costing £7.50p, it is within walking distance depending on luggage and stamina!
Southampton was an delightful city and well worth a visit on it's on.

We were very impressed with this well located hotel. Our stay consisted of two nights at £29.00 per night (Bargain !). A genuine very warm welcome awaited us on our arrival, the reception staff were very friendly and informative. Our room was big, spotless with a decent size bathroom, flat screen TV and incredibly comfy beds. We used the breakfast deal where the kids ate free which made it very reasonable. The breakfast itself had an excellent mixture of continental, cereal and full English with a selection of fruit juices, tea and coffee. We also used the bar in the evening which was very clean with friendly staff. The early check in and late checkout (midday) plus free parking made this a very convenient and economical night away. Well done Premier Inn ! We would most certainly use your services again.

Friendly staff, central location, parking is very very limited however with local council parking available. The room was of a good standard however under our bed was left male birth control?? (unused).....I have heard of chocolate on the pillow but this was a new one,we mentioned it to the reception who immediatly offered to move us to another room however we did see the funny side of it and declined. If you do park in the local carparks (and you will need to) you have to feed the metre after 8 am so no sleep inns and if you return late of night youmay need to walk through a subway.Overall excellent value for money, book in advance many £29 offers.Well worth that!!!
