first glance seemed ok,dumped bags and went out,,,,,only when we returned in evening and got into bed did we realise what a craphole this was!. we both started itching very soon after getting into bed.turned on lights and bugs all over the walls, on furniture, and in sheets. floor still covered in crap from previous customers. ....car park is waste gound behind next doors club!.the"owners" tried to make out it wasnt their fault..HA!..place needs burning to ground..and anyone advertising it should be sued!

Room Tip: go elsewhere!

Helen and her husband (an old Cunard seaman, like myself) are very welcoming and helpfull, the rooms are very clean and very adequate (with loads of coffee, tea etc. in the rooms, not your usual two or three!), the the breakfast is very well served and is very substantial.
A very good stay x thanks you two x

Room Tip: Book early................or you'll not get it! (and that will be a pity.......for you!!

I'm Italian forgive me for my non-perfect english! I went here with my brother for three nights, twin room 50£/night with the shower in. The room was tiny but clean and the manager, a friendly woman, was very helpful in giving us tips about the city and things to visit and where to eat. 70 seconds walking to get to the mayflower. The radiator was a bit over-opened but after talking with her husband he fixed this problem immediatly. Take shampoo with you or just ask the lady to bring you that. True english breakfast. Llloved it!! A pc is there to access the internet. There's a wifi too but the streinght is very low. Hope i've been helpful, bye!

Situated in centre of Southampton, only a 5 minute walk from train and coach stations, and town centre. Very wecoming and pleasant stay, clean and well looked after. We booked on line, and chose our own room, so we got what we wanted. The breakfast couldn't have been better, more than enough to eat, plenty of restuarants of all nationallitys near.No lift ,but ground floor rooms available.

Room Tip: Book on line, you can view the rooms and choose for yourself. I would say front of house quieter tha...

This place is definitevely good for a cheap stay in Southampton. The owner of the guest house is kind and honest, but the breakfast time is too short and last too early. We had a room with shower, but without the toilet, which was out of the room. When we woke up we could smell the fried bacon from the kitchen, but luckly out of our room.
Anyway we walked through all Southampton to find an accomodation, seeing more than 15 B&B and guest house, and this had the lowest price. More over the location is perfect, since it's near the town centre. So, if you don't want to spend a lot of money, this place is ok!

We've stayed in Polygon Guest House for 3 nights. The old lady (staff? or the owner? I dont know) is quite nice and helpful. But you better not to borther her so much or you'd better let the job done by yourself. ^^
The environment of dinning room is excellent with traditional England style interior decoration.
The guesthouse is always full booking. Recommand you to book it as early as you can.
However, you may heard drunk people talk/screaming in the street at mid-night :P But I think it is only occassionally.
