Description: dock o' the bay is a restaurant and bar with great food and service in a fun relaxed atmosphere. It's been open 13 years and in this time we've had so much fun and looked after so many lovely people. We have a huge amount of regular customers and these range from living just around the corner to in completely different towns, cities and even countries and we always welcome new visitors. TripAdvisor has been an incredible help to us over the past few years and long may it continue! Come and see us and see what you think...

Not very busy on a Wednesday in mid January. We were made very welcome. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was very acceptable with generous but not silly portion sizes.
The ambience is quite bright and the theme a little disjointed, but overall we had a very pleasant evening at a very reasonable cost.

I came into the restaurant, the decor is very warm and welcoming as well as the staff. We where seated straight away and handed a drinks menu, we chose a house red at £16 this is normal standard price for a restaurant. We ordered duck salad which was absolutely amazing in taste and well presetented. The waitor took our order with no pen and paper clearly well trained. We had pork belly main, which I get in many places and this beat any other restaurant a mile off, including Grand Cafe in Oxford street. The pork belly was perfect with mash and braised cabbage. We also had desssert. I had recieved a 20% off food voucher so the bill came to around £60/£70 which is great for 3 course meal and a bottle of wine. The food is gorgeous and the people are so friendly and welcoming. It is a shame this place is not more into the centre, well known and larger, but definitely do not look past this restuarant it is the best food I have ever had. I've dined in the best restaurant in Paris, it beat that!!!

We booked a small family meal before Christmas and there were mainly larger groups in for Christmas. Most other places would have forgotten us but not here. At atmosphere was friendly the staff were knowledgeable and helpful with a sense of humour. The food was very good. We had a very lovely evening and would definitely go back.

We had a Christmas meal for 17 of our friends in early December. Due to the size of the group we had the table area in the downstairs part of the restaurant. Maybe they wanted to put the rowdy people away from the other guests :-)

We all had the set Christmas menu, the food and the service was fantastic and the staff/kitchen very accommodating for 2 of the group that were delayed in arriving.

After visiting this restaurant the last time we stayed in Southampton we thought we would give it another try. We were again very pleased with the standard of the meal, value for money and the service we received. We would certainly look to return next time we stay over, it's an easy 10 minute walk from Jury's Inn hotel or less than £5 for a taxi if the weather is bad.
