Good food and service although the ground floor seating area can get quite crowded and you will probably need to wait for a seat (even if you book ahead) on busy nights, especially Friday and Saturday. Slightly "old school" Indian restuarant but none the worse for that. Don't be put off by the outside appearance.

Ghandis' is always very reliable offering friendly service, wide variety of great food and a lovely selection of Indian teas from the te box. The head chef is very welcoming and recognises loyal customers. Doesn't look like much from the outside but is nice and cosy inside, always guaranteed a nice evening.

Despite being very busy on a Friday night, service was quick, efficient and friendly. Our drinks, starters and main courses came quickly, but we didn't feel rushed either. My friend enjoyed his Tandoori mixed grill and I loved my vegetable Vindaloo and egg fried rice. The friendly manager came over to our table and spoke to us, which was a nice touch, despite the restaurant being busy. This is a small, popular restaurant, so booking a few days in advance is recommended. The meal came to £50 for two, including four drinks, so you can't go wrong for the price.

I visited the GHANDI restaurant for an early dinner, in company of 20 colleagues from work. First impression was, well, poor!. The entrance was under some form of renovation, with so much scaffolding everywhere. stepping into the lobby was a rather small and almost fully occupied place that made me wonder where my team will be seated at.
We were gladly ushered to the first floor through some rather narrow and cracked stair case: the story changed. There was a wide, well arranged lobby with candle lights, well laid out tables, etc. We were waited upon by very smart and courteous Indians, who took time to explain the various meals to us.

For me, It was really a first time in an Indian restaurant, and a pace-setter of sorts. I must confess that I totally enjoyed the meal, especially the ginger bread (which comes with a little roasted taste, well baked, and very enjoyable). The serving team was eager to please, very patient, and professional.

If you want a different experience, head down to this location, and send in your opinion.

Been here a few times - this review refers to visit on Friday 19th April 2014.
Went as a family of four. Booths are, as others have noted, a bit cramped, but not enough to spoil the meal. Think South west trains.
Service was amiable but a bit random - seemed like the staff were not communicating with each other, and we have a mix up on the drinks orders - nothing drastic.
BUT - The food made up for all of that - really lovely. We had mainly vegetarian options and they were all well cooked and very tasty. Vegetable Biryani was a generous portion - you will not need extra rice for two if one of you orders this. At 6.45 on a Froday night it was heaving, so they must be doing something right - we will be going again. For two courses and two rounds of alcoholic & non alcoholic drinks, bill came to £88 excluding service.
