Just returned from an extremely disappointing Sunday lunch with our family at the Bridge. We reserved a table for 6 people for 5.30pm only to find they had no record of our booking but as the restaurant wasn't particularly busy we were quickly shown to a table. We had a little wait for our order to be taken then things went downhill.
Only 2 of our starters arrived and we had to chase the other 4, then we waited over an hour for our main courses which we chased several times and each time we were given a different estimate when our food would be arriving. Other tables around us also complained about the quality of the food and also being kept waiting and had their bills discounted - ours was not and after speaking to two waitresses and finally the duty manager my daughter managed to get 1 bottle of wine for our inconvenience! Too little too late. Having staff shortages is no excuse for sloppy customer service. We eat at the Bridge frequently but I think we will be taking our custom to a The Old Forge in future.
