My first and last visit to Rimjhim Winchester was part of a group of 14 for a leaving party. The staff looked overwhelmed right from the start despite the restaurant being of a good size to suggest that they accommodate large parties. Our server made us order our starters and mains after each course but then forgot he had done this, leaving us to remind him that we needed to order our choice of main meal. As a result our main courses were delivered to our table very late into the evening (21.55) when we had booked for 19.30. Other diners seated after us had finished their whole meal, including desserts, when we had just got our mains. Once the food did arrive it could not be faulted.

After being turned away by a few places on a quite Monday night (they sent the staff home as it was quiet) we stumbled upon rimjhim. Had the set menu, which for twenty two pounds we really enjoyed. Rice naan side and two mains. Meat was tender and sauce was thick and tasty not to greasy. Food was hot. Appropriate wait. Service was good, non intrusive, and there where 6 or 7 tables in, which for a Monday night gave it a nice atmosphere, busy enough to not feel like you are eating alone but quiet enough to talk. Waiter seemed confused when we asked to clarify if it was 22pp or 22 all together for set menu, it was the latter. Ordered drinks which came in lovely distinctive glasses. Tables laid beautifully in linen. Would go back to try the for ala carte. Set menu for two, two drinks (alcoholic) and poppadoms, 32ish pounds. we enjoyed are evening.

After having reported on the missing item previously, would like to say that Rimjhim responded straight away apologising and offered us a substantial discount on our next order which we have taken advantage and have been back several times since. The lesson learnt here was always check order!!! Thank you Rimjhim for your continued quality and service offered.

A warm welcome and good service raised my expectations. These were further raised on seeing the menu which included a venison starter and a tandoori rack of lamb as a main course

The meat was fine but woefully lacking in flavour or tastiness. There were minimal spices (and I don't mean a lack of chilli) and I could have been eating an average roast meal (without the potatoes and veg)
