We have just come back from a stay at the lodge.
It’s be a lovely, peaceful break away, surrounded by trees, fields and a lake it is pure bliss. Fishing was an amazing bonus my partner throughly enjoyed it.
The lodge itself was clean, modern and has everything you need.
Gutted I’m having to come home.
Hope to see you again thank you!
Found this amazing place randomly online and booked it for my partner's birthday in May. We stayed in the Fisherman's Lodge which is located just behind the lake, in an orchard with its own stream running past. To the back there are open fields. We immediately fell in love with the lodge and all its little touches and quirks. It had everything we needed. We loved it so much that we returned in late July and it was just as amazing as it was the first, if not better! There was so much wildlife about, we saw foxes, badgers, owls, bats, woodpeckers etc, etc. The best way to destress was to sit on the jetty of an evening and just watch the natural world. My partner also did a little fishing and managed a small catch. The owners are very friendly and helpful and are happy to answer any questions and cater to any needs, We didn't go too far from the lodge but there are several supermarkets etc in the town centre for supplies. Can't rate this gem highly enough and cannot wait to return in the winter.
Having recently enjoyed a wonderful short break at trunkquillity treehouse with my partner and our two children I just had to write a review given the remarks of the last review left on here
As a family our holidays are precious to us so we choose carefully
We had read the many glowing reviews of the treehouse on several online platforms and booked our stay
We cannot say how wonderful the place is..The unique treehouse...it's grounds....the wildlife.....the private fishing......the entire experience was abit overwhelming. ...the comments left from happy families and children left in the multiple full guest books..the children's drawings of family and wildlife from minds full of a thousand dreams made true .....and then the last review really made us feel these people "MUST" have stayed at a different place to us?...and every other reviewer who went before!!
All we can do is agree with those who are truly grateful for the chance to have taken our young family and lived that childhood dream of staying in the treetops.....
The Website clearly states it's a small spiral staircase upstairs....We too agree it's a petite staircase,But we knew that before we arrived so can't see how it's fair for ANYONE to complain about what is clearly explained before a visit is even booked
The comments from.the charities that the owners "GIVE THE TREEHOUSE TOO FOR FREE" were quite frankly heartrending
Well done to the owners for all they have done
We will be returning
We stayed here for two nights in May. The treehouse is a nice place to stay and fairly easy to find. The site is secure and the place was clean (on the inside) and hosts were helpful. There are a number of good pubs locally and tourist attractions. Closest pub was about 20 minute walk from the site (5 min drive).
In general terms the place is a unique and very different place to stay. It looks like it has been well used for holiday let’s as in places it’s starting to look a bit tired and could do with updating / refurbishment, especially when charging c.£200 per night. Overall it has a bit of a “DIY” rather than premium feel. That said there is a well equipped kitchen and TV available.
On our stay we noticed the drains smelt of eggs a lot, the outside lights didn’t work and there was no hot water in the kitchen. While these didn’t cause much of an issue for us, more attention to detail would be good.
The bedroom is accessed via a spiral staircase which is VERY small. Although this won’t be a problem for everyone, anyone of a larger body or any mobility issues will struggle to get upstairs. The banister is also very wobbly! We found the outside space to be quite dirty and had to wash down the table and chairs before we could use them.
Parking for one or two cars is fine, although this is essentially a one bedroom apartment and wouldn’t really be suitable for two couples. Two adults and two children would be absolutely fine. Head space in the bedroom mezzanine floor is very limited as the room angles downwards.
Overall we had a good time, and slept well. Some updating of the apartment itself and a cleaner outside space would make this a higher scoring review. There are other places for the same price which are more premium and modern feeling.
We are just back from a amazing weekend at the tree house. I bought it for my husband 60th birthday treat and what a treat it was . We toured the grounds before we went into the house which was lovely , was hoping to see the otter . On entering the house we were surprised at how much room there was, loved the bedroom up the spiral staircase. Bathroom was nice with the glass panel window in the shower so you can look out whiles showering. Well equipped kitchen with so much cleaning items under the sink, plenty of tea and coffee . Loved the wildlife, so many birds . Saw so many robins i lost count , woodpeckers and of course squirrels and they are so funny trying to get the nuts out of the feeders. There is a container outside with fat balls and nuts for you to feed them too , they are well fed birds . We walked about a mile to the pub down the road each night for an early drink , which if you what’d it done nice food . What a surprise the last Morning to wake up to snow , bit worried we wouldn’t get of the land .Will definitely recommend to friends and hopefully came back .
So me and my partner stayed at Trunkquility Tree House for one night end of February and I have to say, what an amazing place. The treehouse was cosy, comfy, tidy and modern. Booking with Helen was easy and straight forward. We will definitely be returning at some point for sure and hopefully longer than just one night. For anyone looking for a tree house stay, this is the place to be. Thanks again to Helen for our relaxing stay.
Me and my fiancée stayed at this beautiful treehouse between 01/03 and 05/03. Although the drive down in the masses of snow and the ice filled roads was terrifying it certainly became worth it when we arrived and saw where we’d be staying, it was stunning. We were snowed in for the majority of the weekend but what a place to be stuck, the wildlife and scenery here are amazing and the amenities in the treehouse itself were fantastic. As it was a little colder than most weekends there were a couple of issues with the water but the owners Helen and John were quick to offer all the support and assistance necessary which made the whole experience even better. This couple are all about the people and helping wherever possible so anybody considering staying here, you will be in great hands. I found out during our stay that Helen and John provide this treehouse to charities every year such as help for heroes and make a wish foundation which again shows the type of people they are and I feel this needs to be recognised. Now we have experienced this place in the snow we are now curious to see what it will be like in the summer and are already planning our return...
This was a great way to spend my birthday and I can’t recommend this place highly enough!
Thanks Helen and John
