“There are not enough superlatives to describe!!”

I stayed along with a friend for three nights in Pamona Cottage. We have been counting down with excitement to our holiday and we were not disappointed!

When we arrived Amanda welcomed us into the cottage and we were greeted with fresh jam, eggs and milk (very yummy). We were told we were able to explore the area and Amanda was very knowledgable about the area.

The next day after a beautifully peaceful sleep we met Robert and the Llamas. What a treat!! Robert was so informative and was able to answer all of our (at times very stupid) questions. He showed us how to harness the llamas, we then brushed them while he chatted to us about the llamas and their very funny personalities. We went for our trek where we took in some gorgeous views with the llamas. When we returned we hand fed the llamas and there were a few photo opportunities.

We felt so comfortable and relaxed from the moment we arrived and neither one of us wanted the break to finish. I can't recommend the accommodation or the Llama trek enough and I really want to return soon.

“Llama heaven!”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

Friends arranged a llama trek weekend for us and never having done anything like this before we were not sure what to expect. The cottages were beautifully done (we stayed in Pomona) and the welcome on arrival could not have been warmer. Lots of home produce, from sloe gin to fresh eggs - we were even able to collect our own eggs the next morning! Then there were the llamas! We were very carefully and thoughtfully introduced to them all and then assigned one each for our trek! We had plenty of time to get to know "our own" llama before we set out - they all seem to have their own characters and personality. The trek itself is a wonderful way to relax and enjoy both the beautiful local scenery and the company of a truly wonderful animal. We all enjoyed it beyond our wildest expectations. Not to be missed!

“Fantastic holiday with a difference!”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

We'd been looking forward for over a year to our week staying in the Cider House (the one bedroom cottage) at Old King Street Farm and we weren't disappointed. From the welcome pack of homemade jam, sloe gin, freshly picked raspberries and herbs, as well as eggs from the farm's chickens, to being told by the farm's lovely owners Robert and Amanda prior to our arrival to feel free to introduce ourselves to the llamas whenever we wanted, we couldn't have felt more at home from the first minute we got there.

The cottage itself was spacious and fully kitted out to the extent that I've had kitchen and bathroom envy ever since.

The llamas themselves were a joy and it was great being able to go and see them in their field every day.

Amanda and Robert are very welcoming and genuine people. It was a pleasure to meet them.

We found plenty in the local area to keep us amused for the week and can recommend visits to the Big Pit; Ancre Hill vineyard; Small Breeds Farm & Owl Centre; Time Machine Museum of Science Fiction; and Clearwell Caves in particular.

Well worth a visit - we'll be back!!

“Lllama Trekking experience”
Reviewed 29 May 2013

I bought this experience for my husband's birthday because he loves animals and is a keen photographer. We weren't disappointed. Right from the moment we arrived we were greeted by the enthusiastic owner who was eager for us to me the llamas and get to know them. Wr spent some time feeding, grooming and learning about them and then took them for a 3 mile walk on a common with great views of the Herefordshire countryside. On our return my husband was able to photograph them in the field. It was an amazing day.

“Beautiful llamas, wonderful day.”
Reviewed 8 May 2013

We arranged a llama trek for my daughter's sixth birthday treat, and it was just the most fabulous morning. The slow pace of getting to meet , groom and walk with the llamas really helped us all get a feel for these incredible animals. We all came away having enjoyed it even more than we thought we would, and with a new affection for the gentle llama. My small daughters (my elder is 8) were both able to take part in grooming and walking the llamas. They have talked about it every day since, and the way that we were able to very gradually gain the llamas trust also helped us all feel more confident and calm around them. We got a feel for the individual animals different natures. Even the tiniest newborn llamas were showing their own personalities, along with ridiculously long lashes and limbs. I would recommend a llama trek for anyone who enjoys animals and nature, it was a completely different experience from anything I could have imagined, almost spiritual as we had so much time to really get close to the animals and enjoy their company in such a relaxed way. I was eyeing the shepherds hut longingly too! (we weren't staying at the farm) It must be amazing to wake up to llamas.
To sum up, Brilliant for all ages, we were two adults and two children, we all loved it and we all learned something. It was a confidence boost for the children and for adults too, an amazing treat and privilege to have time with the llamas, Thank you Robert and Amanda, for an unforgettable day.
