I'm in total agreement with most reviews about the quality of the amenities here. However, being part of a group and with CHILDREN, I would say that this is not the place to go. We were part of the group with Jamie H (review below) and feel very aggrieved by the comments from the owners after his review. Firstly, nobody approached us on our first night (Friday) about our "so called NOISE" as we were not even on site and having a meal at a local restaurant.

Secondly, you did realise we were a group at the time of booking and once again on arrival because we had asked for pitches together. If this didn't sound like a group booking at the time then I feel it's your staff that you need to take this up with, or even state this clearly on your website ( not after you've taken our payment).

Thirdly, your "tent customer", as you state, had fallen out with some of your tourer guests on the Saturday morning, almost to the point of fighting, which we had no involvement with but witnessed.

After having a lovely game of pitch and putt with our families ( great asset to your site, by the way) but deciding to get away from the vile atmosphere around the campsite, we decided to have a walk into Peterchurch and didn't return until 7pm.

On arrival back at the campsite we had a BBQ, and yes, our children were playing ball games near our pitches but not being "rowdy, or out of control, as your warden may of suggested", they were just being well behaved "CHILDREN".

We are then told at 7:40pm that the children should be sat down and reading a book. Now, I like my children to read but we were camping and I'm not sure my 14 year old would ever want to go camping again if these were the rules!

Going back to the "tent customer", when they did drive off at around 9pm (Saturday) they hurled a lot of expletives at us, which shows the people they are.

Fortunately, I'm not the one to leave bad reviews ( first review on any page) for any achieving business but on this occasion feel strongly enough to do so.

So sorry to have to leave this review because the amenities and most staff are lovely but feel that we were unfairly treated.

Thank you for your review. All reviews are good as they give individual opinions of a site from the customers viewpoint. Poston is predominantly a quiet site and all customers are encouraged to respect the ethos of our park. When the park is busy it is inevitable that there will be more noise from time to time, however even on a busy day people do comment on how queit the park is.

Upon arrival the park and amenities looked super, kids play area, a loverly run for the dog , pitch and put, an onsite pub which was very friendly and provided us with a great meal and a really nice flat pitch to put up our tents all sounds perfect untill the hour of 7:30pm and we were told in no uncertain terms that the kids should now all go to bed or be completely quiet and the adults should also stop talking and "having fun" and at the hour of 10:30 we were "told" to go to bed. Now we are not a rowdy bunch of halfwits just 4 normal respectfull families with children from 3 to 14 years of age wanting a chat and god forbid a laugh and relax. So to cut a long story short if you're a small group with children of a respectful mind dont go you'll be told to shut up and go to bed...rant over

Thank you for your words of appreciation about the park and what it offers, we are sorry that you felt enforcement of our park rules ruined your holiday. Please appreciate that we have a duty of care to ensure all our customers have an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Unfortunately your group chose to stay up late to enjoy each others company but others who had settled down for the night were unable to attain the peace and quiet they required.
A number of customers had contacted the warden asking if we could remind you of our 'quiet' policy which members of staff did come and advice you about.
As you had all booked individually we had not realised that you were actually a group of friends and therefore had not been in a position to advise you of our policy before we accepted your booking. Having spoken to you on the first evening of your stay we had hoped you would have taken this on board prior to us having to ask you to be quiet on the second night.
One of the tent customers left and went home due to the amount of 'noise' created by your group.
Our wish is for all visitors to have a great holiday here at Poston Mill and believe this is possible if everyone showed a little consideration for others.

We decided to go camping somewhere local after seeing the weather forecast was good. Glad we chose here. The site is immaculate and the staff are friendly and helpful (they leant us a mallet after ours hid from us). The pitches are flat, level and a good size. The play area is good for the kids but also has a badminton court, tennis court and table tennis table so the adults can have a knock about with the kids (they're not marked though). The onside pub was very nice and the food was good but as others have said it's not open all day. The kids enjoyed playing in the garden. My mum and dad came to visit us and now want to hire a caravan there for a weekend. Says it all really.

We recently stayed at Poston Mill in our motorhome, lovely big pitch and beutiful grounds, great walks for the dogs and poo bins all over park so no walking miles to find the nearest bin. The facilities were great, good showers and even a custom made dog wash area, great for if they have been having a muddy walk. There is loads of room to let the dogs walk and even an area they can be let off for a run around.
We did not use the restaurant on site as we had an excitable dog who is not very good at sitting still when people are there to be cuddled, BUT we did have fish and chips one night from a mobile van that attends the site, they were very nice.
To be fair we did not leave the site and go walking elsewhere as we were there to just sit relax and chill so cant comment on surrounding area, but Poston Mill was great for us and what we wanted peace, quiet, nice grounds and great facilities.
