Moved rooms twice first time I was being picky as there was no remote to the TV and no wifi reception.
Second room had a bathroom suite from the 80's and that was probably the last time it was cleaned. The shower was the old hose on the tap variant. Again no wifi reception. I wanted a shower so asked to be moved. The lady was very nice and helpful when I eventually found her.
Third room had a shower but only blistering hot or ice cold could be achieved from the old and knackered mixer tap. The walls were paper thin and next door could be heard getting up for the toilet. Again no remote for the TV and no wifi reception in the room. The windows had to be kept closed due to the insects in the woods surrounding.
The fact that it has cheap and nasty four poster beds is an attempt to paper over the cracks. The bedding was from Aldi! Hardly befitting a four poster. I know that sounds snobby but what is the point really?!
I will never stay again.

Stayed here for one night only, as part if a tour of Wales. The Hotel is situated some way from Hereford Town centre, on a reasonably busy road, opposite a small industrial estate.
PLEASE NOTE: If you're not paying 5star prices you won't get 5 star accomodation.
That said, the rooms are of generous sizes, many with patio doors opening onto your own patio area with bistro set. Room furniture has a feel of quality to it, with comfortable beds ( many rooms have four posters ! ) and the soft furnishings are of a modern style ie: Roman blinds, black bedspread cover and stylish pattern bed runner, and plenty of cushions. .......... Plus the best pillows I'd slept on during this trip.
Bathroom was small but functional, but decorated again with a modern feel. Beige stone like tiles with border inlaid pattern, and modern sensor switch LED lit mirror.
I don't want to be critical, but constructive, so I had the overall impression that the owner had spent a lot of money fitting the rooms out, but now some areas are showing the need for ' minor ' maintenance. In our room, the bath sinks when you get in it, pulling away from the tiles. The loo is a modern square one, but someone had broken the seat previously, and it had been replaced with an oval one, that didn't really fit ! Water pressure was a bit low too. All minor criticisms, and just minor maintenance issues.
Our night was still a comfortable and quiet one, followed in the morning by BREAKFAST : ) Big smiles on this. Choice of fruit, cereal, toast, etc plus buffet style selection of bacon, sausage, beans, tomato, mushrooms and fried slice. A choice of cooked eggs, prepared as you wait.....so no rubbery ' hot plate ' eggs here : ) it really was a fabulous breakfast, served by a really friendly staff.
Other reviewers have referred to the experience as being ' Family ' or like staying with your Grandma........and I would second that. The owner is a really lovely Lady, and a pleasure to have met.
Quirky?.......Yes. In need if some minor maintenance?.......Yes. Would I stay again? ...DEFINITELY
It was a perfect stay for a quite night to wind down at the end of our trip....Recommended.

We had a great time in a comfortable family-run hotel with excellent food and accommodation. The room was amazing - a four poster bed with a terrace onto the lawns with a patio table to sit and enjoy a drink (coffee provided in the room). The bathroom included a Jacuzzi with plenty of hot water! Some of the décor and fittings need a little attention. The hotel is run by an elderly lady with some part-time help. So it feels very much like staying with your mother (or grandma) and being well looked after. Breakfast in the morning was absolutely first class, especially the cooked breakfast - the bacon was lean and tasty and all was freshly cooked as guests arrived for their meal. We stayed as a family party for a wedding and the experience is definitely family, not five star, which suited us all fine.

Room Tip: Ask for room 6 - it is superb!

Ok people, if you decide to stayhere then do not expect a five star experience. What you do get is more like calling up your favorite grandma and asking to stay the night. We were greeted late at night and shown to our very large comfortable room. The bedding is freshly laundered and smells lovely.
these are the plus points, the rest you shouldnt be so judgemental on as the landlady is so sweet and welcoming. However, here goes. The fittings and fixtures are a little worn and poorly maintained and you feel that maybe this place is getting a bit to much for her to keep on top of.

The water pressure isnt great so the shower and bath arent rewarding, the breakfast was fresh but simple. The cleaning needs attention but like i say, the friendliness of the staff makes you feel like your staying with your gran.
love it but could be better.

Have just stayed at the Hopbine for a short break we stayed 3 nights it's location is about 10 minutes drive into Hereford town centre. We stayed in room 9 it had a four poster bed and 2 single beds which can also be used as sofa's the room was spacious and warm but the bathroom was cold it had a towel warmer but did little to warm the room the shower took along time to get the hot water out and wasn't very powerful the spa bath took ages to fill but was very clean looks new we had a problem with the sink the whole mixer tap was loose but the speed with which they fixed it was amazing done by the time we got back. The breakfast room was a pleasant surroundings and good food and hot good service. We would certainly stay here again it was a good base for exploring

Room Tip: I think it doesn't really matter

Big rooms but need to be as you will be sharing with moths, spiders and flies. Seriously, the building is surrounded with trees and shrubbery and its an old house, so keep windows closed.
Breakfast is yuk. Cheap enough though.
It wasnt close enough to city centre for my liking.

I was on a course locally and needed accommodation. The only rooms available were the family rooms but these were still cheaper than the surrounding accommodation.
The room was quite spacious, well heated and comforting.
Breakfast was timely and delicious.
All in all, I was made welcome from arrival to departure.
I would recommend this B&B to anyone.
