We have just spent a night here for our wedding anniversary. This is our second time here and it is such a wonderful place. It really is very special. The atmosphere is so relaxing, from the moment that you arrive. You walk through the front door and ......WOW! You are welcomed by Sueanne, who is a gem. Nothing is too much trouble. Tea, coffee or a drink from the free bar. They don't have a drinks license so all the drinks are free. Of course, there is the beautiful Millers Gin on offer. All of the guests tend to gather and chat away in the Wedgewood room. Everyone is so friendly. Free afternoon tea is served 4-6pm. Sandwiches, cake, biscuits. A quick stroll around the garden admiring the building of a two storey treehouse, followed by a few stray hens. Back inside for more afternoon pre-dinner drinks then a quick change for dinner. Choice of two starters, we had the smoked mackerel pâté which was gorgeous. Then buffet main course of either shepherds pie and veg or chilli and rice, then a lovely apricot roulade, brandy snap and cream, all homemade. You get a choice of exquisite wines ( a bottle each!) all for £35 each, an absolute bargain. Oh, and then the biggest cheeseboard I have ever seen which you could help yourself to until bedtime. The rooms are, well, stunning and very warm for such a big old mansion. Antiques fill every nook and cranny, the place is spotlessly clean and there must be an army of cleaners dusting all of the ornaments but we never saw them. The icing on the cake was.....meeting Martin Miller himself as he strolled through the Wedgewood room. He was so chatty and didn't mind a bit when I asked for a photo of me with him, as I have been going to his hotels for the last 7 years and drinking his gin since then. We used to go to Glencott House but it had to be sold as it cost so much to run. His hotels are so special and unique that you should visit them while you can because you don't know how long they will be around. We look forward to trying the ones in Devon. I can't praise the staff enough for making our stay such a wonderful one. 10/10 :-)

Room Tip: All of the rooms are different and unique. You don't spend much time in them as its just like be...

We had the most wonderful time at Great Brampton House. Because other reviewers had said they were not there long enough, we booked three nights and then ended up staying four. We could not bear to leave.
The manager Sue is an absolute star, she is a lovely kind person and does everything to make sure all is perfect for you. Nicci and the rest of the staff are all so good and go out of their way to make everything lovely.

The house and grounds, as others have said, are beautiful. Met Mr Miller and his lovely wife who are such nice people. Dinner in the evening is very good with lots of home cooked food. I recommend you have dinner it is worth it, the atmosphere in the dining room is lovely. Why bother looking for somewhere else to eat when you are staying in this beautiful place.

We met some lovely people and had such a lot of fun. One couple we met went home and then came back again the next night whilst we were there, they loved it so much. It is a wonderful atmosphere. All the rooms are lovely so it does not matter which one you have. We cannot wait to go back. If anyone is thinking of going there just do it.
(Hello Sue, Nicci and all from K and F xxxx)

I took my partner for a surprise weekend away to this amazing place. Nothing disappointed, the food, ambiance, the staff, rooms in fact everything was perfect. We can't wait to go back and hopefully next we shall be able to stay in the treehouse room. Antiques and curiosities everywhere
As others have said Sue is a wonderful manager and hostess, Sophie is a star and told me she loves working there, Taylor was perfect even though it was his first time serving breakfasts.

Room Tip: No room service and no pool so cannot be rated on those. All the rooms are top notch, all with thei...

We found Miller's Hideaway after searching online for dog friendly accommodation. Thank goodness we stumbled upon it. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. very welcome, spoiled and knew that we were going to love it. As the other reviews say, the house is a large country house filled with a quirky collection of interesting & beautiful objects. It's spacious, luxurious and well equipped, but somehow manages to mix that with a relaxed, informal, unpretentious & fun atmosphere. All alcohol is supplied as part of the room price and is freely available to help yourself to. Guests naturally mix and make friends in the lovely atmosphere, without any of the forced bonhomie you can get in some country accommodation.

Our room, on the roof, was huge and modern with great facilities and lovely REN toiletries. It had a lovely roof terrrace with tables and chairs & views over the grounds. It was perfect for anyone with a dog too.

We actually enjoyed our time so much that we changed our plans and came back later in the week for another stay. This time we were the only guests and had the house to ourselves, which was fantastic. We had a different room on th first floor which was similarly huge, with wonderful antiques and furniture, and a vast modern bathroom.

For us, the welcome extended to our dog, a pretty well behaved Wheaten Terrier, also made the place stand out from other 'pet friendly; accommodation. After checking he was well behaved, he was allowed the run of the house and gardens, and had no rules imposed on him at all. No "put him in the car during meals", no "have him on a lead at all times", no "do not leave alone in the bedroom" etc. They even offered for open a separate dining room for us to use if we wanted to dine with him (no pets in the main dining room understandably enough), but we were happy to leave him in the room. As a result the dog loved his time there and enjoyed being fussed over. It was great to have dog treated in a sensible way (obviously it would probably be different if you turned up with a dog that was dirty or howled and barked all the time etc). The place was immaculately clean too, so no worries about dog friendly meaning in any way grubby.

The atmosphere is so good because it reflects the welcome from the owner Martin Miller & his wife Iona, and the welcome from Sueanne, the manager. All three made us really feel welcome, as did the other staff members we came into contact with.

I have no real reason to go back to Herefordshire other than to stay here again, but that's a good enough reason & I can't wait to go back soon.

Room Tip: call to discuss what would be best for you - the rooms are all great, but quite different.

The previous reviews really do say it all about this amazing country house run in a relaxed way that really makes you feel at home. We stayed in The Miller's Suite which was huge as was the en-suite bathroom. Fitted out with antique oak furniture, it just made it for us ! ( 5* )
I've added lots of photos of the grounds as there seemed to be so few on here previously. The gardens are to be enjoyed as part of a stroll around the lake looking back at the house before returning to the terrace for a complimentary gin on the terrace in the early evening sunshine.

We booked a Saturday overnight in this splendid property and i am wishing it was longer. It is hard to describe our visit and i mean in a good way. I can honestly say we have never experienced such a wonderful place. The staff are just great, so helpful. It's not a hotel or even a B & B, it is a stunning house that has so many things to offer you. Inside and outside the things you will see will amaze you. I could continue with all the big fancy words, but i won't. All i will say is book your stay soon as i am sure it will become a very popular place to stay in. And one final thing........the bed was an unbelievable sleep................
