“SUPERIOR COMFORT, BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2013 for a stay in May 2013

This beautiful cottage in the back garden of a lovely historic thatched cottage was a beautiful place to explore the surrounds and come "home" to. Spotlessly presented with every amenity this was a perfect place to unwind after a long day sightseeing. The super comfortable bed and comfy sofa gave us a place to relax ready for our next adventure. Thanks for everything. Julie and George - Australia

“Homely and welcoming”

Tarrington Chase is a cosy, well presented retreat in a beautiful Herefordshire Village. The cottage really does feel like a home from home. The facilities and decor are superb - we expecially liked the highly professional pictures taken by the owners and the fact that there are two toilets! (Funny how your priorities change when small child arrives on the scene...)
The cottage is lovely and warm - great to return to after venturing out on some of the beautiful walks available on the doorstep - the view from the local church is particularly impressive. The village has its own pub and church, both of which made us feel welcome. There is also a play area behind the village hall (warm hats recommended as it's a bit windy up there).
The owners are friendly yet unobtrusive and are always ready with suggestions for places to go and things to do. There are some great places to eat in the area, spectacular countryside and beautiful villages and towns to explore.
We really enjoyed our stay - thank you Sonja and Shane.

“Ultra-comfy, tranquil cottage with great walks in every direction”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 April 2013 for a stay in March 2013

My husband and I spent our Easter holidays here and had a fantastic time. The cottage is super comfortable and every detail has been thought out. There are deep sofas to collapse into, a big, modern kitchen for self-catering and a nice deep bathtub to soak your aching limbs in after a long day out.
The surrounding area has tons of things to do - we went on lots of full day walks to some great local foodie pubs (the Butcher's Arms in Woolhope) and also took a drive to nearby Hay on Wye to check out the literary scene. We could have easily spend a fortnight here without even beginning to get bored.
Shane and Sonja are also fantastic hosts. They are big travellers themselves and have that rare combination of being friendly and warm but unobtrusive. So you'll have lots of privacy when you want it but can also pop over to see them if you have any questions or just fancy a chat.
We think this cottage is exceptional value for money and makes for a great base for a holiday in Herefordshire.

“Lovely relaxing, dog friendly stay in a very good location for walking trips out!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2013 for a stay in August 2011

My husband and I stayed at Tarrington Chase in August 2011 with our two Border Collies. We wanted a relaxing stay somewhere quiet but in a good location for various walks. Tarrington Chase is located in a position which is central to various walking locations. We took various ttrips out to The Malverns, The Brecon Beacons and The Sculpture Trail at the Forest of Dean. On days we stayed at the cottage we visited local towns such as Ledbury and took walks around the local area. The accommodation itself as extremely well decked out with lovely decor and a cozy atmosphere and Sonja and Shane could not have been more helpful. With them only located next door they are on hand for anything you should need. It is perfect if you have a dog as it is a dog friendly accommodation and our dogs definitely gave it their approval :) I highly recommend a stay at Tarrington Chase!

“Perfect”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

A beautiful, cosy retreat situated in a peaceful village but within easy access to Ledbury, Hereford, Leominster, Ross on Wye and Gloucester. The cottage is beautifully furnished with lots of little touches that make this a real home from home (pint of milk in the fridge and tea and coffee provided) so we could make a welcome cup of tea on arrival. Lots of information about the local area, books, CDs, DVDs and board hgames are provided. We stayed for four nights and it was so peaceful and quiet at night we got some of the best nights sleep we had had for a long time. Sonja is very welcoming, friendly and helpful and is always on hand if needed. We can't wait to visit again - this time in the warmer weather and for longer - so we can take advantage of the local walks. We thoroughly recommend a stay at Tarrington Chase.
